I have a week signal on 5G  using my laptop less then 6ft away from the router.

I am running latest version 1.0.0.50_1.0.3 . Done factory reset couple of time that didn't work.

Any suggestions ?

Should be a nice strong signal at that range.

do any other WiFi devices show the same results?

Are the drivers up to date on the laptop?

where is the router placed, ie behind a TV, cabinet or in an open space high off the floor?

Good advice above. Does this laptop have weak signal using any other router?

Have you placed the antennae in the optimal positions?

You may need to use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel in your area and change to that - there may be a lot of WiFi networks in your area that are interfering.

I used wifi analyzer that didn't help. the regular wifi works fine ,  5G jump up and down between low signal 1 bar to 5 bar at least 10 times a min.

My laptop drivers are up to date and its working great with other routers

I would if possible install an app called WiFi Sweetspots if you have a mobile device like an iPhone or iPad. This is a great tool to check if throughput and if the signal is steady.
test at say 6ft min then where the laptop is and see if the line is jumping about as well as the figure. Best to hold it still to simulate your laptop.

Is there a hot fix or any new firmware to fix it ?

Well you've only just told us there is an issue with that so not currently. Disable WiFi completely in Advanced Settings, apply, then reboot, then enable, apply, reboot and see if that helps.
