Hello everyone, I have tried many times but have had no success. I live in south Florida and usually get 70 plus ping on a 1 gig connection. Can someone guide me through the process of switching from moderate to open NAT type. I’m hoping it will improve my connection and slightly lower my ping as well. I am on a XR500

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Are you viewing the NAT type in the gaming section of Windows 10 or on the game itself? What servers are you connecting to because you should be able to get a much better connection due to your location. Having an Open NAT is very unlikely to improve the ping.

I am looking at it in the Warzone Home Screen, I tried portfowarding 3074 but had no success. I even went as far as uninstalling Norton Online security since it might be interfering with the connection

In the XR WAN Settings switch NAT to Open and that should get it open for you, that is the option I personally prefer to use.

It still says moderate. I attached a screenshot of what I did, not sure if it’s what you suggested.

That is yeah, remove the port forwarding you made as that may be conflicting. Are you using the Geo-Filter also? If so disable that before you boot up the game and see if it is open. If so then the Geo-Filter will be causing it to give a misreading - you'll still be getting an open NAT though and so can re-enable it.

Just looked at and still moderate. I removed all of other port forwards and I don’t have Geo on.

What is your XR500 plugged into exactly? A pure modem (no wifi) or a router (wifi)? If that latter what did you do to ensure the XR gets an Open NAT e.g. DMZ, modem, bridge mode etc

It’s plugged into a netgear Cm1200. All I have done is tried to port forward and what you suggested earlier in the WAN menu.

You have to allow the game in your firewall options on PC.

Hover over your network icon in the taskbar, and check that its saying 'Network' and not 'Network 1' or '2'. This was what was stopping my NAT type being open. As soon as got my network on the correct one, everything worked as it should with NAT.

Okay so pure modem and you made the relevant changes on the router, the above two suggestions sound like a good place to check!
