WiFi dropped

Recommended Posts

Tried everything. I have about 15-20 WiFi drops for no reason. Have put it in front of asus router lan to lan, In front lan to wan. After lan to lan, after lan to wan

Also tried alone with same issue. Has been updated to latest firmware and repaired to factory settings 3 different times.
Have tried everything I can think of. After unplugging and replugging wifi comes back on. It is every device that I loose wifi.

Mine as well, I have to restart it about twice a day. Sadly I had to plug back my old router for now because the people in my household were getting upset of the connection drops. Really wish I could get this fixed because the features are amazing but until then I’ll have to use something else. Please let me know if you can help, thanks!

Disable Mirror Mode, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply. Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel in your area, also experiment with the widths to see what gives you the best range/speed. Also in DHCP lease hours change it to 168.

He means he tried the following configurations I believe:

  • Internet ... > Asus (LAN port) > R2 (WAN port)
  • Internet ... > Asus (LAN port) > R2 (LAN port)
  • Internet ... > R2 (LAN port) > Asus (WAN port)
  • Internet ... > R2 (WAN port) > Asus (LAN port)

@Valois WAN port on R2 should always be connected to the router/modem it is getting internet from, not the LAN port. Any modem/router that is providing internet to another device should have devices connecting to their LAN ports.

Have changed all those settings and restarted router. Internet dropped 3 times yesterday. Unplugged router and replugged and worked again.  I am connected lan to lan. R2 1st. Only connect hardwired to an Xbox and Ethernet to lan to the Asus router. Both units have WiFi turned on but I only need the Asus router WiFi. Should I try turning off WiFi on r2?
both r2 and Asus are set to different channels. Since asus is set up lan to lan it is picking up everything on the r2 router as lan connection as picture shows.
mother option is r2 lan to Asus wan?

Will that create the same issue?

to many devices?

If you don't need the R2 WiFi then I'd suggest disabling it for now so that you don't experience any drops. Shouldn't cause any issues like that. If it's working then leave it the way it is setup at the moment.
