scbba Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I have the nvg44x dsl modem router combo is there away to put this into bridge mode so this will work with my xr500 and not have a double nat ?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 28, 2020 Administrators Posted September 28, 2020 I can't find any manuals for it online but look in LAN/WAN Settings and you should be able to find a modem/bridge/passthrough or DMZ option.

If i cant is there away to not have double nats ? If those options don't exist but it has port forwarding then you can port forward: Source: 1 - 65535 Destination: 1 - 65535 Protocol: TCP/UDP to the XR500 and that would be essentially the same as DMZ and prevent a double nat. If not then you would need to see if it is possible to replace the nvg with a pure modem or a gateway that has those options.
scbba Posted September 29, 2020 Author Posted September 29, 2020 Here is what I did Firewall -> DMZ -> Share IP Address with WAN.DHCPS-Fixed ip pass through and chose the xr500 mac I also turned off wire less on the gate which is a nvg443b instead of a nvg 44
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2020 Administrators Posted October 2, 2020 Okay that's great, did that get rid of the double NAT?
scbba Posted November 18, 2020 Author Posted November 18, 2020 No it hasnt sorry it took me so long to get back Ive been busy working
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 18, 2020 Administrators Posted November 18, 2020 Disable UPnP on the NVG and see if that sorts it please. No worries!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 21, 2020 Administrators Posted November 21, 2020 Is the NVG connected to anything at all like an ONT? Are you able to disable the Firewall completely on the NVG?
scbba Posted November 22, 2020 Author Posted November 22, 2020 what is ont ? I have the xr500 in dmz from the firewall
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 22, 2020 Administrators Posted November 22, 2020 Is the NVG connected to a box on the wall or anything like that that has ethernet ports on it?
scbba Posted November 22, 2020 Author Posted November 22, 2020 I can get a open nat with just the nvg however not with the 500 attached
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 22, 2020 Administrators Posted November 22, 2020 You've done everything right there. Could you take a screenshot of: DMZ page on NVG R2 System Information page Where you're seeing the double/mod NAT Then I can see if anything may be off.
scbba Posted November 23, 2020 Author Posted November 23, 2020 I am seeing open on ps4 and moderate ina ll the call of duty games to get a open nat in the nvx I put my p24 into dmz and opened in all games. When screen on the xr500 do you need?
