There would be no harm in doing so. You can try to disable IPv6 and see if that helps. Just remember if the issue happens again please get the log file from System Information.

Ok, wifi seems very weak in this R2, singal strength seems poor most of the time, no matter the channel number, unless I'm right in the same room as it?

We will have a tool that will help us diagnose WiFi issues in the next few days and from there we should be able to tweak the power in order to boost the signal strength.
