acoop133 Posted May 1, 2020 Share Posted May 1, 2020 Nope, unless your ip needs to be whitelisted to join the server, in that case having a dynamic ip would make it real annoying for you as when your ip changes, you wont be able to access the server until they add your new ip to the whitelist. As stated about static IP from the ISP could present problems. For your network, normally a static IP address would not be needed. In my case, I have problems with DHCP lease renewals causing issues, so I reserved or static IP helps fix the issue. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 1, 2020 Administrators Share Posted May 1, 2020 No a static IP will not improve your game performance - a static IP as opposed to a dynamic IP - whether LAN or WAN simply means your IP won't change so there is no benefit to doing it unless you have a specific need to such as above.
