XR500 setup for Destiny 2 pvp fireteams

Recommended Posts

hi there,

I am using an XR500 and have setup filtering mode for my 2 xboxes, my location, a small distance circle, QoS.

I am trying to load 2 teams (one fireteam leader per each of my xboxes) into the same match so we can play against one another, but have not had much luck. Do I need to set the distance circle to include the server that shows up on the Geofilter map if it lies outside my circle?

At some point someone mentioned setting the location as somewhere remote like Antarctica, but is that useful at all or nonsense?

thanks for any information!

Apologies but as this is not the intended use for the router we will not be able to provide official support on this

Okay....I’m not actually asking about farming kills in any way. I think these responses are somewhat unhelpful, to say the least.

No problem, but a little less arrogance would be fine, WalkedDave.

thank you.

I am mildly disappointed by the lack of any productive response to my question.

Strangely; others in this forum have asked similar questions where they were literally asking for help in “boosting” their matchmaking and were provided with detailed support.

Anyway,

if anyone has any constructive tips relating to my question that would still be appreciated.

Thank you,

p.

Really this used to be possible before they transitioned to a P2P/Dedicated server hybrid system. A lot of people who have tried this recently have not had any success. You have the right idea but if it's not working that way then there is no way around it that I'm aware of.

I know the guy that runs Destiny Assistance personally and he's still been doing it, he just did it for Trials this past weekend actually (May 15th-18th), I saw this post this other day so I asked  him because I know it's what he does, and unlike a lot of people that boost and are hush about it, he'll bluntly tell you what he does and how. He said there's 2 causes for this depending which situation you're in. Most of PVP in Destiny is SBMM meaning if your team A's stats dont match up with team B's, you will never pair up. To find out if this is the cause, simply search for a game in a SBMM playlist with your filter on and strict settings. IF YOU MATCH WITH ANYONE ELSE, your router needs to be reset, if you do not match up after 5 minutes of searching you will be tossed to orbit with an error message saying couldnt find a match in the search time period, if you get that error message, you are too far apart skill wise to match up and never will match up. If you are pairing up with other players, you need to reset your router completely,  and he suggested if you're planning on doing it for lobbies or whatever you should have that router only dedicated to the xboxs/ps4s you're using and a dedicated laptop/ pc strictly for using the dumaos dashboard (He has an R1 Strictly set up to 4 xboxs and a netbook on wifi he uses to changed the settings, thats it, he uses his XR500 for non lobby type things) After you completely reset the router and log in and do the basic internet set up, You need to set each xbox and the pc with its own dedicated IP address in the router settings then use those settings on the xbox and pc. on the xbox's check the nat type and make sure they all are open. once thats all set, now you will go into messing with the Geo Settings. you need to get on the main xbox and start a party, make it private so no one joins, and then go to the DumaOS Geo Filter page and add the dedicated Microsoft server that pops up to the allowed list of connections (Depending on your area it'll usually be at least in your timezone area) once that is added, join the party on the 2nd Xbox, LOOK ALL AROUND THE MAP TO SEE IF THERE IS A FRIEND ICON ANYWHERE AROUND THE MAP, he says his 2nd Xbox sometimes pops up showing him in Africa (He lives in Canada) If there is a friend icon, add that to the allowed list, if there is no friend icon you should be good to match up with both xboxs. Now that that is all done, you can shrink the area to search to the lowest miles, and move it to the ocean. Add only the 2 consoles that are being used for hosting teams (if you have more than 2) to the device list and set them to filter mode, and under geo-filter settings only enable strict mode. Now go back to xbox and make sure they still show open NAT. load Destiny 2 up and load the main console into the tower, if it is empty, youre looking pretty good, if theres people in the tower with you, the geo filter isnt working properly, and 9 times out of 10 if you reset it and/or restore the firmware and all that and it still doesnt work, it's time for a new one. Anyway, if you load into an empty tower, load the other one into the tower (not by joining each other) and if it all works out, you should both be in the same tower. and once you get into the same tower, that's it. never change your settings, and you can host games all you want. If you dont want to use the router as a dedicated cheat box, and have to change settings here and there, he said over time you will have to reset the router again to get geofilter to work, until eventually it stops working no matter what you do (the geofilter part, everything else still works on them), he's got a stack of R1's and 1 xr300 sitting in a box in his office that the geofilter just doesnt work on any of them from back when he wasnt using 1 dedicated router.
