Dentnu
Hi, Over the past few days I have been having an issue. My PC which is connected through LAN keeps losing internet. The wired part is it happens when I am not using it for a few minutes Only way to get it back is to reboot my machine. My WiFi devices working perfectly all the time and are not having this issue. I have checked my machine for virus and its clean. I replaced LAN cables and same issue happens. I ended up doing a direct connection with my modem only and the issue did not return. Do to the issue not happen while using only my modem I now know the issue is being caused by the XR500 but need help fixing it. I found an interesting log that I think might be about the issue I am having but have no idea what it means. Can someone please help me? e38BimmerFN
What Firmware is currently loaded? Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update? What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too? Has the PC been given a reserved IP address set ON the router?

Dentnu
I just performed a reset and issue keeps happening. After a few mins of not using my lan connected PC I lose internet on it and the only way to restore it is to reboot the PC.
e38BimmerFN
Is this the only device that this happens to or do other PCs do the same thing?
Dentnu
This is the only device connected through LAN and the only device it is happening to. All the other devices are connected through wifi and work perfectly. Thanks
Dentnu
This is the last log I see before I have to reboot my machine so the internet start working again. Does anyone know what this log event means and could it be related to the issue I am having ? But I also see a lot of DHCP lease change, DHCP new event. Which seems strange. I don't think the DHCP should be doing that. It should only do that every 24hr period.. Or something close to that. Basically you have had somewhere around 8 DHCP changes in one day.. Idk but it maybe possible the DumaOS is triggering that for some reason.. Would seem strange though for that. Your ARP table also seems strange.. It has gone stale meaning not reachable or not fully reachable.. Its possible its not responding to ping on either the client side or host.. My guess is the client side isn't responding. Meaning your router.. Do you have IPV6 enabled by chance? If you do try disabling it.. See what happens then. Those addresses are IPV6 addresses in your ARP table and DumaOS may not be playing well with IPV6.. DumaOS may not be fully compatible.. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 4, 2020 Administrators Share Posted February 4, 2020 I can see you're using IPv6 in some cases, have you set this to 'Always Connect' in the router settings? If not then this may disconnect you frequently, alternatively disable IPv6 if it's not needed and see if that resolves the issue. If not then it may be related to DHCP, in which case set a static/reserved IP in the LAN Settings for your wired device.
