Can't get full speeds on XR500

Recommended Posts

Antibufferbloat its at 100%

Also it set on "when high priority traffic detected"

Secondly i set my speeds manually at 120 down and 7 up as the package i paid...

Firmware said that is updated to the latest version..

So also a fast rewind

1. I test speed through modem and i got 138mbps download

2. At the setup wizard when netgear test the speeds, it gaves me 138mbps download

3. After finish the wizard i test again and i got 76 (i tested multiple times)

I didn't change anything exept

Geofilter set to Cyprus and filtering mode

I set manually Antibufferbloat at 120 down and "when high priority traffic detected"

Set playstation as high priority

Thats all

Need your help please

I made new tests

ARRIS modem 116 down

Normal at XR500 73down

QoS disable 116down

Antibufferbloat Never - QoS enable 73down

VPN disable - QoS enable 81 second teat 72 down

So it seems QoS is limit my speed, what i have to do now??

Let's keep all support related to this issue in this topic please as you've got it in three different places so it's hard to keep track of what has been suggested and tried.

If with QoS disabled you get the full speeds then it indicates you have some QoS setting that is limiting yourself. Could you show us your full QoS page please with the option menus open if possible?

That all looks okay. Through WiFi do you get the lower speed as well? Could you reset distribution on Bandwidth Allocation for both download & upload as well please. Are you using the same ethernet each time for tests?

Yes through WiFi is lower

I did reset the distribution and still the same

Yes i use the same cable, i tried with a cat7 and after with cat5e

Any idea?

Updated

Also something else. Why that light is orange? What it means?

And a final though...

Do you believe that may i need to contact my provider to bridge my ARRIS again or its not problem of arris?

So i factory reset my modem and bridge it again..

Now i get

From ARRIS 130 download

Normal from XR500 with QoS enable 116 download

QoS disable 130 download

Hmm still strange..

Any idea?

P.S.
does the values i put on Anti-Bufferbload affect the speed limits or are just estimate values ??
lets say i pay cable internet of 120 mbps download but some times i get higher like 135 and sometime lower like 80 what i have to set there ?

I believe that the values you put into anti-bufferbloat will actually affect the speed you get. For example, if you had it set to Always and the speeds to the right of the slider showed 20Mb, that's what i'd expect to get.

I think i figure out the problem..

I really don't know what was exact..

I factory reset both ARRIS and XR500

An i set them both from the beginning..

I also se Antibufferbloat to 135 down and 8 up..

Until now it seems that i got the same speeds
