Azlios
Any possibility of adding an automatic wifi channel changer that can change the channel when it becomes congested?
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted June 28, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 28, 2019 This is a great idea, we'll look into adding this in future. I believe that the NETGEAR models can already do this, but not the R1. For the time being, you can use a Wifi Analyzer app on your phone to figure out the least congested channel yourself. Azlios
unfortunately I have already done this but due to being in such a congested area the channel gets filled pretty quickly and my WiFi drops. Having it change automatically for me would be great. Been considering the XR300 for a while now but don’t really want to deal with Netgear. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 29, 2019 Administrators Share Posted June 29, 2019 That's a good use case, thanks for the insight. Couldn't say when a feature like this would be released unfortunately.
Azlios
Would either of you be able to confirm for me if the xr300 has auto wifi channel? I found out the xr500 has it but want to make sure the xr300 has it too. Also does the xr300 still need the BT smart hub like the r1 does?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 5, 2019 Administrators Share Posted July 5, 2019 Yes it does, just like the XR500 it's only for 2.4GHz but not 5GHz. It doesn't have smart connect though I don't think.
