Gamingcavalier
Hi all, Received the XR300 today. Apart from a few 'Nil' bugs, so far, so good. Only real disappointment so far is VPN. Does anyone know if the XR300 will get the Hybrid VPN? I am really hoping so, as I am trying to simplify my network and I thought it would have it. Thanks
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted May 20, 2019 Administrators Share Posted May 20, 2019 Unfortunately the XR300 doesn't support hybrid VPN. It might do at some point in the future, but we don't have any immediate plans to add it. Sorry!

Its got a 1Ghz Broadcom BCM4708C0 SoC and 128Mb flash memory and 512Mb of RAM, thats more than the R1 all round,. So why s it not getting the Hybrid VPN? Gamingcavalier
I was wondering the same, I have an R7000 with lower RAM which with custom firmware is able to run VPN in a similar fashion to Hybrid VPN. Obviously the DumaOs version is more customisable and simple though, which is why I was disappointed. I have to say I'm having a right mare trying to get my VPN working how I want on either the R1 and now the XR300 too 😢

Not sure if you can remember, we tried on the old firmware, couldn't get it to work. Now on DumaOS it doesn't work either. I'm not sure but it seems the R1 doesn't support VPN client or something along those lines.

Both the routers have access to the Hybrid VPN feature and you can use the basic settings for HMA or PureVPN or the advanced section for any other provider assuming you can get the OpenVPN config from the provider. Gamingcavalier
Yeah, I've tried the OpenVPN configuration files for different VPN providers but they all ended in errors. I tried the same files on a custom Netgear R7000 and it worked fine, so seems the R1 is missing something and obviously the XR300 has no Hybrid so I'm stuck really. Administrators Netduma Alex Posted May 22, 2019 Administrators Share Posted May 22, 2019 We're always looking to put all of the features we can on all of the hardware we can, but essentially if a feature is a "must have" for your setup, you need to make sure it's a listed feature for the specific hardware you're buying. Anything added later could be considered a bonus.

ozzi
Hey everyone! Just got my XR300 and noticed you mentioned the “Nil” bugs. I’m confident I’m having the same issues with the geo filtering and auto ping. Everything related to those is attached with “nil”! Auto ping doesn’t show a live feed measured in “MS” but nil instead! Every box says nil. When I click on the menu next to geo filter map, under flush cloud, another selection labeled nil with selections, 2.5 being the first, then 5,8,10, and 15. Under that, another selection but labeled nil with an adjustable slider, lastly under that just a box labeled nil. I have no idea what any of this means but I’m confident this isn’t normal! Can someone please clarify all this for me? And why my ping isn’t measure by milliseconds? Thank you all in advance!
