zombitroid
For the most part the wifi seems to work really well. But periodically, on my PC and Iphone, I have to turn my connection off, and then on to make the connection work. Basically the internet via wifi kind of shuts down every 12 or so hours, and you have to go into your iphone or pcs settings and turn wifi off then back on to fix it. Anybody know if there is a setting on my net duma that will fix this? I would just connect these two devices to my other modem/router, but I want my all of my devices in my house to be on the net duma so that the congestion control can dominate lag for me. Therefore the net duma wifi is pretty important to me.

mcl
Every 12 or so hours, or exactly every 12 hours? I ask because I believe that's the default length of the DHCP lease handed out by the R1 (I can't verify this right now since I'm not at home, but that's what my brain is telling me). That said, I've not seen that problem. However, the only devices I have on wireless are an N7 tablet I keep in the bedroom for watching the occasional movie, my inkjet printer (which I haven't yet migrated over to the R1), and my and my wife's cell, neither of which see enough use or stay in one place long enough for us to have noticed that. Macca65
Have you got the wifi workaround ticked or not in miscellaneous settings
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 16, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 16, 2015 It could be mcl but usually the wifi workaround is the issue
zombitroid
Hi mcl thanks for the reply. I did think about this and maybe this is what is happening. It is 12 hours, so in theory my wifi may reset every 12 hours. Should I turn this up to a week? And I cant seem to find the wifi work around setting you guys are talking about. Is it the control panel one? that is unticked for me
zombitroid
Should I be setting up static ips for my ps4 and other devices?

Is it the control panel one? that is unticked for me Its in settings > miscellaneous "Enable wifi work-around". If that doesn't work for you then it could be DHCP lease as mcl said but try this first. Should I be setting up static ips for my ps4 and other devices? It'd be best to leave them as it is

procreate
what IS the wifi workaround doing exactly?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 17, 2015 Administrators Share Posted June 17, 2015 what IS the wifi workaround doing exactly? Basically some people experienced issues with WiFi, the WiFi workaround was introduced to fix this problem - which it did. However, it caused issues for others, so now we have it so you can toggle it yourself to get it working perfectly for you.
