kizvandutch
Is it better to use my combo Telus modem-tplink-netduma netduma or my combo Telus modem netduma- tplink setup? When I’m gaming I’m getting some lag with frame dropping or very bad jitter. I’m using reactive my speed are 110up 114 down though my optic pure fibre connection. Any other Canadian users have any recommendations?
BIG__DOG
what are you using the tp-link for? It would be better to use your telus modem - netduma and then tp-link as an AP in AP mode. You need to do a ping test with your pc/laptop wired directly to either your telus modem or connect it to the R1 behind the telus. You cannot reduce your base ping, that is either done by moving house or by ISP.

Any other Canadian users have any recommendations? As Big Dog said above, improving your base ping usually requires a big change like moving house or switching ISP. Spikes / Jitter / Packet loss can be improved through other means though like getting a better modem or new Ethernet cables.

IPv6 wouldn't improve your gameplay - it's a myth invented to sell Xbox consoles with IPv6 compatability, but in reality it's just a different IP address. If you're getting 'frame issues' then this won't be lag, rather performance issues. Lag is when your controls are taking a long time to register - so you press a button and see a delayed response in-game. If the hit registration is bad, that's usually indicative of the other player experiencing lag or lag compensation kicking in and trying to balance the game. Some people have had success in WWII by forcing games with a medium ping (like 30-40ms) which apparently works better with the lag compensation. I'm not convinced but you could give that a shot
kizvandutch
My base ping is 30-50ms off ping plotter. So maybe it’s me finding the right server that works for me
