JediZavv
Greetings, In short, is there a way to prioritize traffic using "DumaOS Classified Games" for only one or few specific devices (by name/MAC address)? Afterall, it contains a nice list of common games; problem is that I do not want to prioritize devices from my tenants, so I want to cherry-pick my own devices. I understand that I can use "Add Device" to add ports manually but I encountered an error in this scenario... Specifically, I'm trying to prioritize traffic from the game Planetside 2, which needs HTTP (TCP-80) HTTPS (TCP-443) UDP-20040 through UDP-20199 // for simplicity, just consider this line for now UDP-5062 Following the guide: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000061577-qos-bandwidth-speed- I tried to Add Device > $DeviceName > Advance > Source (Start:1, End:65535), Destination (Start:20040, End:20199), UDP and I got the following error... Unable to install because streams overlap. . Any clue? p.s. I disabled the default "DumaOS Classified Games" (for all device), and only have another rule set for a single device for "Simple: League of Legend". Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 5, 2018 Administrators Share Posted April 5, 2018 Hi Jedi, welcome to the forum! DumaOS Classified Games will prioritise any device it's detected as playing a game, there's no way to specify it for only a few devices. If you're getting that message it means that the other rule you set has that range within it. If the games are on the same device you can make one range that covers them and that will work just fine. JediZavv
hmmm, I removed the LoL one and am able to add 20040-20199 afterward; however, Internet says LoL uses only... League of Legends uses those ports: 5000 - 5500 UDP (League of Legends Game Client) 8393 - 8400 TCP (Patcher and Maestro) 2099 TCP (PVP.Net) 5223 TCP (PVP.Net) 5222 TCP (PVP.Net) 80 TCP (HTTP Connections) 443 TCP (HTTPS Connections) 8088 UDP and TCP (Spectator Mode) not sure why they overlap, something's not right... while typing this, I switched tab to try "With a simple QoS rule set for device X (e.g. LoL), try to add another rule for device X on another simple option / advanced port"; result is, you can have multiple simple QoS options set for one device but it would not work trying to add any advanced port (I tried a lot of random port number, like 45678). Is this a bug? Should I file a bug report? Where to? Also, how can I feature-request that "DumaOS Classified Games" be an option for only one or a few devices (not all devices in network including guest network)? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 6, 2018 Administrators Share Posted April 6, 2018 It might be that the service is classifying a wider range which would make sense. I'm not sure if we'll implement that feature but I've added it to our request list. If you just have LoL selected for that device does Planetside 2 get prioritized? JediZavv
No, with just LoL selected, Planetside 2 did not get prioritized, no high priority traffic detected.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 6, 2018 Administrators Share Posted April 6, 2018 If you could do this for PS2 that would help us classify it properly: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/24394-want-to-help-classify-games-for-traffic-prioritization-look-here/
JediZavv
For the record, enabling "DumaOS Classified Games" for all devices can successfully detect and prioritize PS2 traffic; Anyhow, I captured some traffic in game, 3 times for each simple action, hopefully it's sufficient. https://drive.google.com/open?id=105vDCJPdrbT6Rtve4FNL4j_Ih4V-Xko6

Fraser, am I reading this correctly, if I select my particular Xbox (one device) and then select games console it applies priorization for all devices that play games??? what If I just wanted one of my Xbox to be prioritised, how would i do that? Would I just enter the ports manually or is there any easier way?

If so just disable DumaOS Classified Games and add your Xbox with the Games Console service

If so just disable DumaOS Classified Games and add your Xbox with the Games Console service I am unsure if I should do a new thread. I believe my problem is very similar. I have been having massive issues with FIFA 18 (Xbox One), again, after 2-3 weeks of decent gameplay (still laggy, but kind of responsive). I noticed the Traffic Prioritization doesn't work anymore. I did a factory reset. I tried adding only the device itself. I used the DumaOS classified games. Nothing gets prioritized. Any suggestions? Administrators Netduma Admin Posted April 15, 2018 Administrators Share Posted April 15, 2018 That’s odd. So when you are in a FIFA game against another player, the Red light for High Priority Traffic Detected does not come on? Could you try factory resetting again and then leaving Traffic Prioritization in its default setting Could you also make sure you have not enabled IPv6 Finally, do you use PPPoE? If yes, make sure your details are entered on the modem instead of the XR500

Before, it was showing me the prioritization packets for 1 min or so and then, nothing was prioritized. I will get back to you if this issue arises again.
