PS4 bandwidth

Recommended Posts

Hello. I'm getting inconsistent readings on the ps4 when I do a speed test. I can get an 86dl 8ul and the next 5 readings are all <10dl and <2ul.  The only time I recall this happening is when using the R1 and purposefully throttling my bandwidth. I've disabled all anti-flood, reset distribution, and disabled all qos, but still get those inconsistent readings. Am I doing something wrong? Also tried unticking share excess for both the ul and dl and was still getting the same results...Perhaps it is the sony network but not sure

Hi nytemare,

What bandwidth number have you set you anti-bufferbloat to?

Could you please post a screenshot of your entire QOS and I'll have a look to see if anything is incorrect.

Thanks

I will try to figure it out tomorrow, as far as the screenshot stuff goes. may have to be walked through it. but for now I will continue to see what I can do to possibly fix the issue.   thanks

Click ‘More Reply Options’

Click ‘Choose File’

Select the image file you want to upload

Click ‘Attach This File’

Once the file is uploaded click ‘Add Reply’

If the file is too large it will not upload, in that case either resize the image and try again or use a site like imgur.com as Iain suggested.

I figured out what was going on.  Thanks to the network monitor I noticed that someone's Xbox was continuously downloading and using a lot of bandwidth, which was making my PS4 speedtest results in consistent. I blocked the device for a moment and started getting consistent results.   Thanks for your assistance.

with the old R1 i would hit 100dl fine but with the new nighthawk 60 is what I top at.

Following the suggestions in this topic regarding QoS are you able to achieve higher than that when connected via ethernet?

Do you have other devices downloading at the time or console in Traffic Prioritization?
