First, the Geolocation filter + Ping Assist. Then, your network congestion (if any). Finally, you might even move the home location icon depending on where you live. The only YT who I know that uses an R1 is Drift0r. Ali-A and others do not to my knowledge, but that doesn't mean they do. More than likely, they are just lucky and live in populated areas near dedicated servers e.g. London.
lefteris.lydios Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 why ping 8.8.8.8 is fair standard to all users?

Because google have servers all over the world, so its one genreric ip for loads of hosts.
Lyncho84 Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Yeah i know it should be a good ping butplay aw 7 out of 10 games my hit detection just isnt great
Zennon Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Here is how to set up your Netduma to get the best out of it. http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=user_manual
Lyncho84 Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 These are results i get zennon but thanks again for your help and info much appreciated
Zennon Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 The pings are really steady so it is not your isp no jitter problems or packet loss, look through the wiki and set up your congestion control if you have not already Where about's on the globe are you?
Lyncho84 Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Northern ireland but iv set my home location to south coast of england as there are more host around there is that ok??
Lyncho84 Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 By the way that wiki was really helpful thanks
Zennon Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 The Irish dedicated server is a pain it plays so bad for me and other, so i miss that out completely when i play. 316km Geo from the Scottish boarders to the south coast uk with 0 ping assist so not to jump out of my geo back to Ireland.
Lyncho84 Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 Is that ur geo settings zennon,if so were u bases urself?
PharmDawgg Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 By the way that wiki was really helpful thanks And new things are constantly being added to it. Very informative read.
Zennon Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Is that ur geo settings zennon,if so were u bases urself? Here but I am not sure if it will work for you but you could try it
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted June 7, 2015 Administrators Posted June 7, 2015 Cheers Zennon for helping out. Just like to add Lyncho that your base ping is about 30ms. Which is good, some people here have 15 which is exceptional but 30 is good. So the best ping you can get for the game is pretty much 35ms. Do you know how to use the in game ping feature?
Limagreen Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Should PPPoE be enabled on the modem? Can this give a false ping?
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted June 7, 2015 Administrators Posted June 7, 2015 No the normal ping, have peer ping switch off but autoping enabled. Do you see the ping graph appear?
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted June 7, 2015 Administrators Posted June 7, 2015 above your Geo-Filter do you see auto-ping option?
lefteris.lydios Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 If your ping is 30ms and stable at that then that is a good ping. Because google have servers all over the world, so its one genreric ip for loads of hosts. I may be wrong but 8.8.8.8 is not all over the world.
Zennon Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Well lots of servers in different parts off the world.
lefteris.lydios Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Any IP location finder says 8.8.8.8 is in California US. That's why I assume pinging 8.8.8.8 is not a fair measurement for everyone. Not an expert though.
Zennon Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I Ping to 8.8.8.8 @ 15ms from the UK so i doubt my server is anywhere near there They have servers all over that is why Iain use's them for the duma test.
