tennesseejam
I will be switching from ATT to Time Warner within the next couple weeks because they have better speeds in my area.. Do i need to reset to default and then do the intial setup again? Also, what modem do you all suggest I buy to go along with the netduma?
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted May 23, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted May 23, 2015 No need to reset settings. You should be able to just plug straight into what ever router they send you so I don't think you will need to buy a new modem
tennesseejam
Well, they usually send shitty modems... I planned on buying my own anyways. Was thinking a Surfboard
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted May 23, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted May 23, 2015 Well, they usually send shitty modems... I planned on buying my own anyways. Was thinking a Surfboard They usually do but as its not doing anything (the Netduma is) then it should be fine. If you are getting one though then I've heard good things about the one you mentioned Just check that it is compatible with your ISPs connection method (e.g cable/ADSL etc). Alex49H
Check TWC site depending on the service you are going to get they tell you what modem you need and you can shop for the one you need.

tennesseejam
I'm still not in the clear on swapping ISPs... I've been trying to get away from ATT since they wont offer anymore than 6 mbps on my street. The rest of the city gets 75 to 90 mbps... I decided to go with Comcast.. They sent a guy out here and hooked everything up only for there not to be enough signal... I took off work two days.. Now, i'm going with Time Warner, and they said the same thing.. "Sure, we can offer you 50 mbps down and 5 up in your area"... I'm gonna be pissed if they come Friday telling me the same shit lol... I'm just gonna move! I've been lagging like crazy ever since MW1.. Still held a respectful KD and WL ratio over the years even with getting knifed around EVERY corner.. Having a shitty connection for so long has really made me a better player though I believe.. I dont get away with going balls to the wall. I have to be ready around every corner instead of relying on seeing the other guy before he sees me all the time.. I see most of the main youtubers always have the advantage.. I dont get away with the same stuff they get away with.
fuzzy clam
First good luck with getting your net all set up.I'm sure your aware but there can be other factors than just bandwith in having a good or bad gaming experience. If there is jitter or node overload on your ISP's line you can have huge bandwith and still be behind the action so to speak.Make sure your connection is optimized as best it can be,set your duma properly and enjoy your new ISP and hopefully your gaming experience will be great.
