ok guys so i have quite a big house and the WiFi doesent reach every room in the house, i had an asus modem router just sitting their so i decided i would put in the guest room which is close to all my family's rooms. i plugged it in the duma no worries and i turned off the netduma wifi and just left the asus Wifi on because its connected to the duma so their would be no harm in lag.my problem is that their is a second wifi that comes up but i don't want to be there so i tried connecting to the asus software 192.168.1.1 so i can turn off its wifi. i couldnt access it because its connected to the netduma as a AP. quick update The second wifi name won't come up anymore which I believe it was the 5ghz but on the front where the blue lights are the 5ghz is still lit up, so I believe it's still enabled some how

Not sure I really understand the problem.

If you turn the wifi off on the Asus (and the wifi is already off on the Netduma) then you will have no wifi.

If you only want 2.4ghz, you just have to log into the Asus and change the wireless settings to disable the 5ghz network. You should be able to log in over wifi or over ethernet.

I might not understand what your asking either but I would keep the Asus in AP mode and keep the 5g for the speeds, not sure why you would want the 2.4 instead of the 5g so like I said I might not understand what your issue is either.

In order to enable access point mode on the Asus router disconnect it from the R1 and connect it to a laptop or pc. Then enter 192.168.1.1

This should allow you to access the interface.  The turn on access point mode by way of the interface.  I honestly do not believe your Asus router is in access point mode the way you have it setup currently.  You can't just plug it into the R1 and expect it to be in access point mode.

I am not sure of the model Asus router you have but here is a little vid that may assist. Goodluck.
