Recommended Posts

I have a problem with my speeds when I connect my MacBook pro straight to the modem and go to speedtest.net I get download speed 180.15 mbps and upload 24.25 mbps but when I connect the MacBook pro through the netduma r1 I get download speed 63.83 mbps and 24.20 mbps upload is this normal?

No. But common 'mistake' often. 90% of the time when I get that result, it's bc I forgot either to raise the sliders up to 100 and/or have share excess checked.

Start there and then fumble through the wiki walkthroughs. By then, if still stuck I'm sure one of the big boys in here will have chimed in :P Good luck.

Make sure you do the following:

  • Reactive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Enable turbo mode
  • Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds.
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC

If you are doing a test with WiFi then you won't receive the full 180.

I'm on wired connection and I'm using the red cable that came with netduma r1 and I don't have turbo mode because I'm on version 1.03.4

It's important to stay on top of the updates just like any other device you own, phone etc.

It's the only way the people way with the higher speeds are gonna be able to hit them but try and keep an eye on the updates and stay on the most current version.
