XSXS Posted February 17, 2017 Author Posted February 17, 2017 I ran the smoke ping test using my PC, that is hardwired (CAT5E) to the Netduma, then to my modem. Congestion control was set to 100% for download and 90% for upload.
FQs19 Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Smokeping tests come from DSLReport's servers. They ping your WAN IP over a certain amount of time. So any packet loss and jitter is from the routing of the signal and equipment between DSLReports and Your modem. The R1 will have no affect on this testing. Pingplotter is used to see if there is a problem on your end of the modem and outside. Smokeping is for outside of your modem only.

Should i be contacting my isp etc. Since you are getting packet loss from all 3 server locations, I would say yes, contact your ISP. Run a Pingplotter test between your PC and your DNS server to show your end of the network (Modem > PC) then forward both to your ISP. Goodluck
XSXS Posted February 20, 2017 Author Posted February 20, 2017 I wanted to see if a new external ip would fix the packet loss issues but only way I could was to reconnect my Asus to the modem. I've noticed in the past different ips address will have more or less hops. So see if this new external IP is any better. So right now the duma is out of the loop and running another smoke ping.

Anyway, I'm still seeing packet loss when running smoke ping. I'll post some screen shots in a bit. However titanfall 2 has never played better with the asus connected! I feel like I'm cheating the connection is so good! I didn't expect that!
