toby jugs
hopefully easily fixed lol i'm only getting 10% of my upload ( 0.3 ) and my download is severely strangled through my R1 at the moment even with the caps sent at 100%. i phoned my isp because there's been some service disruptions in my area recently and they told me to take the netduma out of the equation and try it , i got my proper bandwidth again just through my virginmedia superhub already tried updating cloud settings too so i haven't got the foggiest idea about it, was working fine till a few days ago. any help greatly appreciated being as it is a sunday night and all that. Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted May 17, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted May 17, 2015 Can you go through this and make sure you have done everything in there to get your speeds back. Was the cloud thing a question or was it about what you have tried to do to fix the speeds? I'm not sure I understood what you meant by that last bit. Zennon
If you find you do all of the suggestion's in the wiki that Crossy has linked you too and that does not help then try a Netduma reboot.

Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted May 17, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted May 17, 2015 Also, forgot to mention but the max download speeds you are going to get are 120-150Mbps so if you're speeds are faster than that you won't get them until a later update
toby jugs
have you sett the correct speeds in the Congestion Control ( SET BANDWIDTH) at the top. i do a speed test everytime i wanna do some gaming and alter it accordingly, i have to do this because the service is so erratic, my isp needs to upgrade all the cables in my area next month , seems like they have been taking new punters on at the expense of their existing ones and are a bit over subscribed around here at the moment

Zennon
Virgin do throttle bandwidth if you upload a certain amount http://my.virginmedia.com/traffic-management/traffic-management-policy-30Mb-or-higher.html

Zennon
Hosting will still count I would think
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted May 17, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted May 17, 2015 Hosting a game would still use very little bandwidth I think though so not sure if it would be because of the hosting. Could be because of FaceTime or Skype Video chats or something more 'Upload Intensive'. Not saying it isn't the hosting, but I'dve thought it would be something that would use more bandwidth if it was this
toby jugs
not using skype or anything, if my isp is traffic managing me for a few dozen games of cod a week that's a bit skanky imo

If your not torrenting etc then I don't think they would be capping your speeds though
Zennon
I doubt hosting alone would make the TM kick in but it will add to the total i would think, not saying your hitting your upload total but it is something to look in to if you are seeing slow downs. Probally a different issue like congestion like you say but it might be worth asking them if you are hitting their limits.
toby jugs
i'll be sure to pull them up on it if i have to ring them again, on a plus i'm not even paying for the service at the moment as they gave me 2 months for free when i realised they'd put me in another contract without informing me that the speeds would be intermittent till the end of next month. Administrators Netduma Iain Posted May 18, 2015 Administrators Share Posted May 18, 2015 Sorry bit late to the thread toby. But you should easily achieve 40mbits using the R1 using the thread Crossy posted. Only potential issue is wireless and that depends on what is in the way and interference from other wifis.
