When you get a new modem/router you should be able to just switch the Netduma over to it. Just ensure you have your devices set in DHCP lease so they'll have the same IPs. The only thing you might need to do is put the R1 WAN IP into the DMZ again or have the new hub in modem mode.

DHCP hands out IP addresses to devices. Set your devices to static IPs in DHCP lease so that when you reconnect the device it'll have the same IP and the port forwarding rules you've already set will still apply. Your port forwarding should stay if you've set static IPs. Only thing then is DMZ/modem mode on new hub.

I'd go through each page/tab of settings and write them all down in a word doc (or screenshot each page).

Then you don't have to stress about whether it wipes anything or not.

And you can change things and test settings as much as you like but you will always have your best settings to go back to.

Ok do I manually set them .. and is dhcp lease in settings ? .. also if the duma is switched off at the plug do the settings save ?

Yes set it manually to the IP that they are currently/to what you set in port forwarding. Yes it is in settings. I would reboot from miscellaneous settings to save first, then unplug and you're good to go. If you're really worried about it follow Colonic's advice above.

Here is an example:

Xbox IP is 192.168.88.201

Port forwarding you've port forwarded ports such as 3074 to your Xbox's IP which ends in .201.

Now if you disconnected the Xbox/router and then connected it back again then your Xbox could reconnect and have a different IP, ending in .187 for example. Then the port forwarding rules you did to the IP ending in .201 won't work anymore.

To prevent this go to DHCP lease in settings and for your Xbox you would click reserve and type in 201, then apply. That would ensure that even if the Xbox/router was disconnected when you connect back it can only have the IP address ending in .201. Does that make sense?
