Areuz
I am making this topic because I noticed that the Netduma Geo-Filter though I was located in Seattle, Washington. I am wondering if services are thinking I am from a different area than where I am actually from? For example the public google DNS (8.8.8.8) always puts me on the California server (I'm fairly sure) although I am from Minnesota and I think there are closer server locations to me. Would this make a difference for gaming? Is there anything I can do to fix this? Also a friend of mine on the same ISP has a static IP and the geo-filter puts him in Kansas. Just a small question I had. I know it probably isn't a big deal but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.
iAmMoDBoX
http://www.infosniper.net Is it the right location? You can move your geo-filter home location with the house button
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 1, 2017 Administrators Share Posted February 1, 2017 You just need to place your home manually as above and you'll be set.
fuzzy clam
As MoD said simply move your home location to where you actually are. Hit the icon that looks like a house, and move the white indicator.

You can move your geo-filter home location with the house button Yes this shows my correct location. Also sorry for not pointing out in my original post that I knew how to move my home location. Regarding my thoughts about the google DNS I found out that it is giving me the closest server (Council Bluffs, Iowa which is right next to Omaha, Nebraska) but I am getting a high ping to it anyway. It is a shorter distance to this server than it is to Chicago (Chicago I get pings as low as 19ms) yet I get pings of over 50ms to the Google DNS server. I find it weird that I get such a high ping to this server.
fuzzy clam
I would say that it could be a mis located server but those are usually crazy pings like a server 3000 miles away pinging at 20 ms (obviously mis located) But I get different pings to the chicago dedi bank of servers,I know it shouldn't happen but it does. And I'm sure your aware that some servers in the same bank will play way better than others.Just as well some dedis that are farther away say 50 ms ping will play better than a server that you ping at 25 ms. I don't think anyone knows exactly why this happens as there are so many variables to it but I do know it happens.

Yeah for example my hops which are owned by hurricane electric always say they are in Fremont, California (HE's main headquarters) even though the hop will have chi in it obviously showing it is in Chicago. I have also noticed that I have great games on others hosts (in UMG/GB comp. matches) when they have Verizon FIOS for example, or any Fiber connection in general simply because they have low ping like me
