Welshy
Hi, I'm with ipvanish and have been using the vpn feature on netduma without any problems but recently when trying to connect I'm getting error message "failed to communicate with router". Any ideas? Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2017 Hey, please follow this guide. It should resolve your issues: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000027772-common-vpn-errors
Welshy
I've followed the guide still no good. I've also tried to reboot via option in misc but it wont so had to turn it off manually. Perhaps this has something to do with Norton security, was with McAfee before?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2017 The enable button isn't ticked in that picture but you said it was working before so I take it just wasn't on for this picture. That shouldn't affect it, can you provide the config you're using and error log please

Welshy
That log is massive and I can't seem to copy it to the end. Tried again and it scrolls down for ages. Is there anyway of exporting it?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2017 No way to export. BIG__DOG
when you click reboot in misc it can take upto a minute to do a reboot. you will know it has done it when it beeps. it does not always reboot immediately after clicking the reboot button. give it 60 seconds or just over for it to kick in! Welshy
Tks big dog...but nope it still doesn't work. The whole UI seem very sluggish. When I deselect the vpn/apply and go to another menu and come back it still shows it as selected as its not recognizing any of the inputs. Something weird going on.... Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 30, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2017 Okay judging from the log this is what I've been able to gather: It might be failing because the username username/password may be incorrect. If you're using an autofill type it out manually. Check that you have the up to date IPVanish certificate. Take out the "resolv retry infinite" line from the config, that should prevent the log loop. Factory reset then all the above please
Welshy
Tried all of above minus the factory reset and still no joy. Will try the factory reset later today and update. Tks
Welshy
Does it matter if I do a hard factory reset via the pin at the back as the UI seems unresponsive via the misc sect?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 31, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 31, 2017 Factory reset first then do the above. Would be better if you can do it from miscellaneous settings. Just click okay and then wait, you should hear the router beep to indicated it's rebooted.
