Bit of advice/help needed

Greetings and salutations to all my Duma brother and sisters (if any) :)Happy New Year to you all.

Advice/Help please I have BT Infinity with the HH5. I also have a. Asuus Router. which has a DSL port. Obviously to connect to a modem. I am in two mind whether to sell the Asus if I can't use it with my particular set up.

I used it previously as an AP when I had Virgin, I would if possible like to use it in place of my HH5.

So, would I have to buy an Openreach modem? or would an adapter, if one exits, be sufficient

Also would I still be able to access the BT apps/players on my TV.

Thanks in advance

Edit: Nobody got any advice?

Is your Asus a modem/router combo?

I'm sure a friend of mine on BT switched his home hub out for an Asus without any problems, he didn't buy a modem so he must have used either what he had already (from BT) or his Asus was an all-in-one.

Hi Boom

No it's a router, it doesn't have the built in modem, so that's why I was asking the question re the modem.

I know so Asus router have a built in modem, but not mine:)

I'm on TalkTalk so can't say if it's a pain in the bum with BT or not, I think you've got similar flexibility with BT like TalkTalk though.

After all, I'm using an BT Openreach modem.

Someone in here will know...
