RT Turn Clyde
Since I've had the NETDUMA anyone connected to the WIFI has not been able to send or receive MMS or group messages (sent via MMS) on iPhones. I know if I block TCP/UDP ports 5060 and 5061, the phone will be forced to use celluar data for MMS messaging, but I can't find a port blocking menu. Is there another way to get MMS to work? and/or am I not seeing the page to block specific ports?
II N3MES1S II
Try turning on the data while connected to wifi.
RT Turn Clyde
Try turning on the data while connected to wifi. Do you mean cellular data? It's on, been thru apple and t-mobile support and the phone set up is good to go, phone works on every other wifi except netdumas
ColonicBoom
You could try turning on 'wifi workaround' in 'miscellaneous settings', or turn it off if it's currently on. Forgetting about MMS for a minute (you mean iMessage right?), can the phone connect to the Netduma wifi and access the internet through the phone's browser? And of course, make sure that 'wifi calling' is active on these iphones that can't send messages (assuming there is still a manual on/off for this). And check if there's been a carrier update, etc. And hard reset the iphone(s). Most problems with Apple devices are Apple problems.

I mean MMS(picture messages over text/SMS, group message, iMessage is different. I found articles on the internet stating that if port 5060 and 5061 are open the phone tries to send the message through those ports instead of cellular data. The browser works on the phone through netduma wifi, that's probably going through port 80 or
ColonicBoom
I don't have any suggestions I'm afraid, I've not used MMS in years. I don't think I've ever turned it on on my iPhone. On mine, 'MMS' is under 'SMS' settings, not iMessage. As far as I'm aware iMessage is what sends over wifi, not SMS/MMS. Which would lead me to believe it's a carrier issue. I'm not saying you're wrong because I honestly don't know much about it. Is it giving you any kind of message? A failure message? edit - saying that, a friend and I had a problem where we couldn't send each other iMessages over wifi/data a year or so back, and then my girlfriend had the same problem... We all ended up having to delete the message threads in their entirety and disable all message settings, then set them back up again. I think there was another problem with multiple recipients for one person (like one person having theirs linked to a phone number and an email at the same time). There is also a known issue with group messages (or at least there was a while back), if one person from the 'receiver' group does not have it (iMessage) enabled (or doesn't have an iPhone) then the group message fails completely. It could be something like that I suppose.
ColonicBoom
I think I misunderstood... I thought you were saying that MMS messages won't send over wifi. I don't think it does or ever did, it sends over the data/cell network, which is what confused me. Are you saying that you can't send MMS messages (over the data/cellular network) when your phone is connected to the wifi, as if the wifi is blocking it from using the data/cellular network? RT Turn Clyde
Exactly I can't send MMS over the cell network when connected to the wifi on my netduma router
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 7, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 7, 2017 Not really sure why this would be a Netduma issue but regardless, if your phone is trying to send over those ports then I would disable UPnP on the duma so it won't open those ports for the phone and then try. If that doesn't work please try disabling turbo mode if it is enabled and switching to preemptive algorithm.
RT Turn Clyde
Thanks Fraser!! When I disabled turbo mode, MMS messages went right through. What would you recommend as a setup in the future?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 8, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 8, 2017 Excellent, so it seems to be a bug at the moment with turbo enabled that we'll be able to sort out in DumaOS. I'm not sure what your speeds are make sure you do the following so you can get as much speed as possible whilst still being able to send MMS. Reactive Algorithm 100% anti-flood Share excess enabled Reset device prioritisation & apply Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc Disable deep packet in misc
