Current setup: Cable Modem---Netduma---ASUS Router---Everything else Xbox1S and tablet hardwired to Netduma; ASUS hardwired and handling all other wireless duties. Used to have X1S and tablet static along with ASUS Ran into some weird stuff including this issue of no longer seeing static ip devices in DM, so decided to factory reset. Reset fixed other issue, but this one still remains. If my devices are not using DHCP, they can't be seen by DM. So currently have X1S and tablet using DHCP and ASUS as still static. What that means is that I can't control amount of resources that ASUS (ie rest of network uses). I can't figure out what/why it changed all the sudden.... Your help is greatly appreciated. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 2, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 2, 2017 If you put your Asus in AP mode then all devices connected to it will show up as individual devices on the device manager and you'll be able to control them as you see fit. The only real case that I seeing this being absolutely necessary just for pure ease of use is if you're manually port forwarding. Upnp is working for me at the moment. that is one cool feature that Asus has is that that you set rules, port forwarding, etc to the devices mac address so you never have to worry about that. My router has been doing weird things so much that I didn't want to have to fight this as well. I also don't want to turn my $250+ ASUS router into an AP. It manages HDD and a printer that are working. The ASUS doesn't like not being the top dog though, I get a flashing yellow icon to remind me. haha I hope that the new OS will come soon. I struggle with the "clumsiness" of the current OS in regards to several things like profile changing/lack of current profile displayed. Also seems to lose saved settings often. Sometimes have to recreate Admin info. Settings get turned off and on that I previously configured, etc. Oh, just for clarity. In regards to static, I like to run a very small pool of IPs in DHCP and have a group of IPs reserved in the non-pool that I know are always there. For instance- static IPs between .05-.10 for PC, Xbox, Printer, etc then a pool from .11-.21 for the other devices that come and go... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
