PING HELP

This is because on speedtest.net you are pinging a server as close to you as possible. In the game you are pinging the host.

So check a few things.

First, that you are on the latest version.

Second, you have set the GeoFilter up correctly.

If you still have high pings after checking that, can you post the information listed here :)

no its a 2 ping I have fiber optic internet but when Im playing and even if im host im getting like a 40 ping according to the ping test

Thats could be because of two things:

  1. The server you are pinging to has a high ping (ping is the time it takes to send a packet and receive a response so although it could take 2ms to get there, it might be that it is taking 38ms to receive a reply).
  2. The server is further away so it takes more time for the packet to reach the server.

Could you post the information from here as it is most likely because of the way you have set up the GeoFilter and also other factors.

Do you live next to your i.s.p and is the server you are testing on speedtest.net right next to you as that is craszy fast ping?

If so you would never see that speed at any great distance.

Sorry could you clarify what you mean by game ping? Is this the ping graph when you have auto-ping on?

Also a couple of things. The speedtest ping is a useless stat, it doesn't tell you anything useful. It tells you how long to ping nearest speedtest server which is probably run at your ISP. But that doesn't mean anything as its not a game server or a server that does anything of interest. In fact I think I heard some ISPs put them on their edge to give low pings  & high throughput as many consumers see them as a measure of broadband.

Finally 40ms ping is a good ping, you can proably get better but that depends on the Internet Diagnosis test and the population of where you live.
