ColonicBoom Posted November 24, 2016 Share Posted November 24, 2016 I expect you are connecting to a host based on the Geo filter radius. They work independently of one another. If you have the Geo filter over land AND have Ping Assist set at 30ms... You will be able to connect to hosts within the radius (regardless of ping) AND hosts outside of the radius with a ping of 30ms or lower. If you only want to choose hosts based on their location then set the radius where you want it and set Ping Assist to 0ms. If you only want hosts based on their ping then set the Geo filter in the ocean (make it the radius small) and set the Ping Assist value at 30ms. If you don't get any games then set the PA value a bit higher and try again OR start higher and work your way down until you can't get games (then bump it up a bit obviously). Remember there is an anti-cheat feature built into the Host Filtering, meaning that any changes you make take a couple of minutes to take effect. You're still able to get games inside your radius that are above your ping assist limit. Ping assist only applies to games outside your radius so you never miss the opportunity of a good game. yes my ping is jumping all over the places What's the average ping and how much is it jumping? Are all devices connected to the R1? Are you using congestion control?
