Not sure why ur praising this video. Game is no different than what ovenbakedmuffin has posted years ago and every cod since ghosts. Exact same findings but more in depth. This like the kids version.

 

Slip, Could you please stop trolling? OvenBakedMuffin has made the last video of Black Ops 3 and NOT IW/MWR.

Let's jus repost videos that others make and put a name game name in headline from same company. You must think game engine changed too since cod ghosts right? Hasn't changed in years, delay still dame. Ping cap is 800ms before kicked from server.

Leave u before boostgod shows up and gives everyone a networking lesson.

You might not be trolling but you are full of ignorance. Have you bothered to watch the video?

Game engine? What are you rambling on about? The title says "Netcode Analysis". Not clear enough for you? The 'delay' as you call it comes from how optimized the Netcode is along with the update rate of the client to the server as well as the server to the clients.

 

If you bothered watching, you will see that the update rates for Infinite Warfare is higher than that of BO3 while MWR is given a substantially lower update rate then both IW and BO3.

 

Conclusion, that is why the threads about MWR in this forum mentions things like 'rubber banding' and such. Just by seeing how pathetically low the update rates are in MWR, it is no wonder people are having a suspicious feeling that MWR plays worst than IW; Including me when I played it.

Too bad, I've jumped ship to Overwatch for now. As you can see in the graph, the game plays really great with fantastic hit detection to the point where I don't even notice or even bother about these kinds of thing anymore.

 

Nevertheless, I feel their pain since I was a COD player for a substantial portion of my life. From upgrading monitors to buying a Netduma. All of this just to find a way to lower any delays encountered. Low ping players feeling like they were penalized, high ping players feeling like the game is laggy. And now they lowered footstep sounds substantially on top of there still being flying acrobats performing their 360 noscopes. Just had enough of it already. I just bought the game to enjoy the Campaign anyway. But Overwatch has proven to be substantially better to the point that I only blame my own and/or team mates' skill(s) for a loss as opposed to the constant, "Lag" I hear from people in their mics including my own in COD games for years.

 

His data tells me otherwise from your 'blind opinion'. How exactly is 95 ms the 'same' as 105 ms? (This is after 20 individual tests that he has done)

They being doing this for years. And bo3 vs IW is 2 different company's and different servers. Any who all for games have better ping or MS delay than cod but you know what. We still buy it and it's still number 1. We have known this delay for a loooong time. You will buy the next cod jus like everyone else knowing the same damn Shit. . Look at tf2. Ppl praise the game but as stated why release a game a week after b1 and week before cod. Dumbest marketing company ever. All games from over watch to catch to halo, quake, unreal tournament. Anything plays better than cod. It's obviously a money scam. And what you bought your netduma cuz...... They claim it fixes cod. Not the claim on front of box saying dominates lag. Many posts and people have noticed you don't need netduma for other games sadly just cod. If you don't play cod. You probably don't need router since those servers net code are better? But how many ppl are on tf2? Few thousand? Cod? 500 million? Remember wow and Diablo 3. More people than any game in history. No lag..... Cod is and always a scam. They know it. We buy in it marketing as usual.

That's why it's dead on PC. Because PC players are smart and know that these settings (if unlocked) can be edited and adjusted... He is right when it comes to the tick rates in the video, but these settings are on PC. It may be different on consoles. We don't know. I do know that if they allow you to edit the setting, you can easily change the tick rates on PC games because people do it all the time on custom servers. Go look up Counter Strike high tick rates...

 

With that said, even with a high tick rate, we will still experience what we call "lag" because of engine latency. This can be easily proven by going into a split screen game which has 0 lag since the client and server are on the same system and perform some of the same tests that are in the video. Overbakedmuffin does this, and I believe when you combine the bad netcode and the bad engine lag this is where you get +200ms delay on even 0ms hosts.

 

Now my theory on why this is?

 

Well, first I would have to blame incompetence. The person who single handedly optmized the netcode for MW1 and then MW2 left and went to Respawn Entertainment. If you go back and play these games, even though they are P2P, they still have way less "lag" than new games. Many of them are on par with current AAA FPS games released today like the ones listed in the video. I can get on MW2, with a host across the country that I'm pinging 90ms to and have smoother and more consistent game play than on a 10ms host on any new cod after MW2.

 

The second option would be, they want this lag in the game. Because for every bullet that doesn't count for you, or every time you die around a corner, means that someone else is on the winning side of the lag and having a game of their lives. What better way to keep ALL of their customers happy, than to blame their connection when they are doing bad and when they are doing good - nobody notices the lag. Same can be applied to flinch in the game. It takes skill out of the equation because you can't counter flinch no matter how good you are. So when timmy no thumbs comes around a corner and is shooting at a cod pro veteran who's been playing for 8 years every day of his life - skill is no factor in a head to head one on one gun fight when you have random lag on both sides and flinch that throws off your shot randomly. Randomness is my point here, it keeps everyone happy, sometimes, and that sometimes is enough to keep you playing.
