Macabi83
Does google 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 always get crowned the winner?
A7Legit
I like my ISP provided for gaming and I use a combo DNSCrypt & Opennic provided ones for just about everything else.
PharmDawgg
Probably the most used but it is not a definite winner for everyone. Just an FYI I had an issue where I changed my DNS and started getting those reverberating white bars on the VPN page and under the cloud section under settings/misc page. But before I factory restored I was going to try all my options so I changed my DNS to a more common one like googles and it started working fine. Don't know why but just wanted to throw that out there if anyone has those damn white bars
Drock678
I actually was inspired to see if I could get a faster DNS than the google one's everyone says to use. I found a particular guy's blog, read the article, and took the chance to download the program. Turns out my ISP DNS was the fastest for me. Cut the speedtest ping down from 20ms to average 18ms. It should be noted I have no clue what I am doing, but I have learned a lot from posts by guys like A7legit. I should get a twitter just so I can say thanks. Check it out if you are so inclined. http://www.shoutmeloud.com/dns-benchmark-find-the-fastest-dns.html(This is the blog. He links to the program as well) https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm(the programs page with instructions for use) In case i don't have permission to post links you can google "Gibson Research Corporation" select freeware > utilities > DNS benchmark to check it out. It really worked well for me.

RADDY1993
You can run DNS Benchmark and it will show the fastest DNS Servers you can connect to, watch the video below
PharmDawgg
I use pingplotter to check dns servers. For instance I can't use any level 3 or opendns servers because stupid Comcast has a hop literally name lag..... and packets are always lost at that hop or the ping spikes really high. So I will run namebench and check the dns server with pingplotter as well. Just an fyi.
