Hi,

Just got a new router and need help with config. Using my ISP'S provided Asus RT-N56UB1 I get 55mb every time on speed test using wifi. Using Netduma connected to it I only get 30mb.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% sure of your complete setup but I would definitely use the R1 as your primary router and the Asus as an access point for Wi-Fi Wi-Fi purpose.

If the Asus is a combo modem/router then I would set it up with the R1 in the Asus' DMZ.

Hi Buck. It's bit of a strange setup. I have to use the Asus as it's Radio wave internet. This router have been reconfigured for my house. Getting 50mb down 20up and 11pings.

Ok. I'll back out. Not familiar so it would be like the blind trying to lead the blind :) Got some pretty intelligent people in this forum. Someone should be able to assist.

Please try the following:

  • Reactive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds.
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC

Use a WiFi analyser and find the least congested channel and change to that.

Hi Fraser.

Thanks for the reply. Have changed all the settings and still no joy. I only get 36mb down on both wired and wireless through net duma r1. If I use the ASUS i get 55mb on both wired and wireless.

The only thing I can't check is the Cat5e+ cable. Not sure what mine is. What does a normal cat5e cable top out at?

have you enabled turbo mode and inputted your speeds into the netduma? if not go to device manager and put your speeds in there, but do not click auto config or it will undo all your settings, or, you can click auto and let it configure it for you but i do not let it!

Please try the above and if that does not work please make a post in the 1 on 1 section and I'll be happy to have a look.
