procreate
so i just got the router today and playing around with the geofilter while my son plays some games. i set the fileter by distance to 1124km [i keep unchecking km for mi but it doesnt hold btw] and then see who he is playing with. i pick one of the dots on the map and do a traceroute. that distance has literally gone all the way around north america for a person 613km away, the path has gone probably 8000km. it would really be nice to see the total ping after doing the trace... or any information while its tracing. is this somewhere i havent found yet? example trace NC to Kansas to Washington [state] to Maryland [the trace goes across the country west to go back east] basically even limited physical distance the game seems to want to run through witchita kansas no matter how close the players are. what am i missing here? he is playing destiny... is witchita their server for the game? also is there a more in depth quick start guide? the one that started when i first logged into the router went away and didnt finish. not sure how to restart it... and the help section is vague. looking at this more, it seems its my ISP that is sending the first hop to whichita. starting to think no matter what i do i am hosed with lag. Zennon
Hi , for the duma to remember the settings tick enable cookies in misc settings. For a presise trace route use the internet diagnosis from the duma this will show you were your second hop (after your router) goes in ms. Here is the guide you asked for http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php Please follow the guide that Crossy spoke to you about in your other thread , thanks

To add to Zennon's post, could you follow these steps to get the optimal settings for Destiny: http://forum.netduma.com/topic/1731-destiny-1034/ To rerun the intro tour, go to 'Help Tours' on the menu on the left and click 'Take tour'
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted May 5, 2015 Administrators Share Posted May 5, 2015 Hi Procreate, Please ignore the trace button, it was only added as a novelty feature. The reality is that often the routers on the way get mislocated. That's why I suggest just focusing on the ping itself. So when you click a circle you can click ping & that will show that more useful information. For most information we recommend using our wiki, which is at wiki.netduma.com Please let me know if you have any other questions.
procreate
probably be a good idea to take the trace out then. especially if it isnt really of any use. curiously, why in some games, full lobbies are there only 4 circles? shouldnt there by 12, or at least more than 4? [call of duty, not destiny]

[call of duty, not destiny] Some of the players might have been outside your GeoFilter so shown up as triangles then disappeared - I think... procreate
Maybe this is my lag issue like last night. Only 4 or so circles then as well. I see the triangles as far away as westSide south America! Sometimes as south as Chile.
Dillinger
Maybe this is my lag issue like last night. Only 4 or so circles then as well. I see the triangles as far away as westSide south America! Sometimes as south as Chile. I play CoD almost exclusively and I see this from time to time as well. If you zoom out, sometimes you can see triangles in some pretty remote reaches of other countries. Living in the PNW and play on PST, I usually get three or four constant triangles from deep south Mexico and into South America. I am just REALLY happy now I have the ability to reject them as hosts. #AllHailDuma
