Speed Issues.

Hey all, I've read through the posts on and guides for optimal speeds but I am still experiencing slow(er) speeds and turning here for help.

* Netduma = 1.03.6h

* SuperTurbo = On
* Down/Up Cap = 100%/100%

I am pulling 650Mb+ when wired direct to modem. Wired direct to Netduma I can only get 150Mb consistently. What am I missing? That's a massive drop off. What else would you need to know?

In order to use super Turbo you have to check turbo as well.

Also make sure you are using reactive algorithm and that you have deep packet processing unchecked under settings/miscellaneous.

Have you went under congestion control and clicked on set bandwidth and input your real world speeds?

Hey welcome to the forum!

Please do the following:

  • Reactive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Enable turbo mode
  • Enable super turbo mode
  • Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds.
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC

Thanks for getting back. I have done all the steps outlined. My speed test just ran 316. Which is better. But a direct to the modem will still get me 6-700. Any more ideas?

I have a Netgear Nighthawk between it. But it is set up as an access point with WiFi turned off. I haven't mentioned this before because I get the same speeds if I connect direct to ND or through the Netgear.

Should I put the ND behind the Nighthawk? I have one console in the living room where modem is. Another console in my office. Should I let the Nighthawk be the first on the network and use the ND for the office console? Seems wonky to do it that way and I'd be missing out on a bunch of the congestion control features that way it seems. Just thinking out loud here.

I like your current setup Modem>Netduma>Nighthawk (as an access point).  But in a previous post you said the wifi is off on the Nighthawk. Did you mean it is on? Because I would let all your wifi devices access the Nighthawk wirelessly and turn the wifi off on the Netduma. And all consoles that are close enough to the Netduma can be hardwired to it.  Now if there are any that can't be hardwired I guess just connect to the network wirelessly through the Nighthawk.  Hope this makes sense :)

You could do that because with super turbo on congestion control is disabled so you are missing out on it anyway. So if then what you want is to use it for the Geo-filter for your console you could do that.

Cool. The nighthawk is a bit farther away from the house to use as main wifi. I think. However, I'm really more interested in why the nextduma can't clock around 6-700mbs. "The maximum throughput with all features enabled is approximately 500mbit/s. With the congestion control features disabled, it is ~900mbit/s." Everything is working dandy, I just want to know why I'm not getting top speeds. :)

I just turned the wifi off on the nighthawk because the only devices that use it (about 50 yards of Cat5e in studio behind house) are wired. Console and MBPro. And really just to test. I was thinking if turning it back on when I got this all figured out.

Honestly, you could have got a $20 switch to do the same thing if the wifi is off.

 True. But I already had the night hawk. And I plan on turning the wifi back on out in the studio.
