speeds issues beteween Netduma and ISP router

Recommended Posts

hey guys.  So i talked to my ISP (TIme Warner Cable) today in length.  we did all kinds of tests because my internet speeds were sooo low for what im paying.  Supposed to be 35/6.  With the Netduma R1 version 1.03.6g, im getting 10/5.  so after doing speed tests on the wifi router from my ISP (Ubee) im getting 37/7 (they were surprised by that).  I know an added router is going to slow the speed down a little bit but that is drastic.  Any suggestions would be great.  I tried everything I could read on here.  Been working on it for some time.  Thanks in advance for the help

Wireless on netduma sucks for speed. Good range. Highest I seen was on N laptop 70 megs. Do ur speed test wired always. You're welcome

Pretty sure I've had 152mb through my wifi.

I've changed ISP since then but definitely saw full speeds coming through wifi.

But yes, all tests should be done over ethernet. Unless you're actually testing wifi itself of course.

I've had the full 80 over wifi and tweeted it out to netduma months ago so it's without doubt capable of those speeds, turbo mode isn't needed for speed so slow, factory reset duma and let it reboot disabled Ipv6 in both LAN and WAN and apply, turn off deep packet and enable cookies, make sure you have entered the speeds you sre supposed to be getting in the duma, then reboot the duma from the miscellaneous page, that will hard save all the settings and once fires back up try a speedtest

Do these please:

  • Preemptive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Change to PSK2 security
  • Use a WiFi analyser to find the least congested channel and changed to that

you will use the analyzer to see which channels have other wifi SSID operating in that frequency range and choose one that has none or at least one with the lowest signal in the band to overlap.  Most programs/apps will select the best channel by a rating and you will go into the router and change the channel to the best selected by the analyzer.

Ok guys thank you for the help it is very appreciated.

So I did all of the above, changed the channel to the best I found. I'm getting 10/3 still. I attached a picture of the results. The one with 36/6 is the Ubee modem/router, the rest are Netduma results

Are you getting full speeds when wired to the duma at all? It's possible the Ubee WiFi could be interfering with the R1 WiFi.

If you're not getting full speeds wired either please post in the 1 on 1 section and I can take a look.

I just quickly wanted to give an update on this. Had a 1 on 1 with Fraser today, and he was good enough to work on it over an hour. After everything, I haven't had less than a 30/5, which is fantastic to me. I know I thanked you A few times already, but thank you again sir. Says a lot about the company
