fuzzy clam
hi can anyone tell me if the auto ping setting should be causing interuptions in your game play while in lobbys No it shouldn't be and isn't it happens to all of us sometimes. You look at it and it's fine and then you look at it and it looks like it's not working correctly. I think it has something to do with how bad the other connections are to the dedi that your playing on,at least for me this is what happens on BO3 if I'm in a lobby with a bunch of 2-3 bars and I see they are 2000 miles away the auto ping goes on and off during the match. And this may or may not pertain to your issue but there are more than likely other factors involved if your experiencing interruptions in your game play. Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted October 3, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted October 3, 2016 What Fuzzy said is correct; auto ping shouldn't affect your connection at all. What kind of interruptions are you having?
BIGMAN176
When the lobby first loads up the auto ping gets its reading then the graph loads up within 5 secs it's auto pinging the host again when this happens my game goes funny and I can't kill but I die every gun fight until it gets a ping reading again then the same sequence of events happen again and again this is happening in every lobby
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted October 4, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted October 4, 2016 http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022397-why-can-t-i-ping-Follow this short guide and make sure it's all correct; and after that, try turning auto-ping off. Then, when you get a game, manually ping the game and see if the issue occurs again.
BIGMAN176
hi jack ran it for a couple of days just to see if its any better but not much difference its a bit better pinging the host myself but i cant seem to play more than 1 game in the same lobby or i just die in every gun fight in the second game. It has only done this since the power adaptor packed in it has a new adaptor supplied from netduma i do know that the adaptor has nothing to do with ping but its strange i have also noticed that my ping in games is usually 32ms or there abouts but the odd games i get about 22-23ms are terrible i have to pull out as its unplayable. Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted October 7, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted October 7, 2016 You're right in saying the power adapter makes no difference to the connection; and the lobby connection shouldn't decrease in quality over time. 32ms ping is fantastic, and 22-23ms is even better. The lower your ping, the better your connection should be - so your problem could potentially be spikes / jitter. Could you run a network diagnostics on the Netduma and post a screenshot of the results? Also, try using the COD Ultimate profile; though given your ping you seem to have correct settings. BIGMAN176
I tried running my xbox back on my bt homehub 5 without the netduma and so far i've had much better games without the netduma could there possibly be an issue with the netduma unit itself as it should be the other way around !!!! Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted October 7, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted October 7, 2016 If that's the case it's more than likely that your settings are incorrect. What are the speeds you get? Try this set-up: - Reactive Algorithm - 70%/70% anti-flood - Share excess enabled - Reset device prioritisation & apply - Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc - Disable deep packet in misc - Enable turbo mode if your speeds are 120+ - Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds. - Do a wired speed test from a PC No other router gives the support for gaming that the Netduma does; if you could give us information about your setup / settings, what game you're playing and what device you play on, we can go from there
BIGMAN176
i have already tried this previously but its still the same my ethernet cables are cat7 and the ping diagnostics read ping-good jitter-exceptional spikes-exceptional packet loss-no loss my xbox and pc are both hard wired to the R1 my download speed is between 70-73mg and my upload is 18mg i took a picture of the ping diagnostic but it says the file is to big
BIGMAN176
I play bo3 on my xbox 1 I have tried playing with the duma inside and outside the homehub5's dmz I have tried playing with port clamping in the hh5 I have tried playing with the duma ip static and non static in hh5 I have tried playing with the congestion filter 70/70 80/80 100/100 I have tried altering the amount of connection in the graph more to my xb1 keeping all figures the same when adjusting the graph I also tried playing by throttling the connection i'm at my wits end I have tried all the cod profiles and even if I do have a good game and stay with the same lobby next round is terrible I end up pulling out as you challenge and loose every gun fight which should not be happening so I try a different lobby the game is terrible again Laggy missing frames hit detection is of by a mile I gave up trying for big scorestreaks long ago
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 10, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 10, 2016 70/70 anti-flood Reset device prio, share excess on console in hyper traffic 1000km radius strict on ping assist 0 R1 in DMZ. ALL devices connected to the R1. Disable the WiFi on the homehub. Otherwise congestion control will not work correctly. If you're getting bad games, temp ban the server and then search again or move your radius away from it. You'll need to be aware of anti-cheat as well: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000024118-anti-cheat
BIGMAN176
Hi Fraser thanks for your reply the wi-fi on the homehub 5 has been switched of since i got the duma both 2.4 and 5 ghz everything does run through the duma my location has been placed on mainland uk and every Host i get is Ireland but if i keep blocking the bad games i'm left with no hosts and struggle to find a lobby i just don't seem to be getting the same good game experience that everyone seems to be getting, most games i'm breaking even or struggle to get 15+ kills and before you say could it be me no it's not my nephew is the same when he plays on the duma he runs with 40mg down and 10mg up at his home and has an average of over 300 score per minute on his without a duma he lives less than 10 mins away from me he has said himself theres something not right when playing on mine we try playing on split screen and the games are unplayable 1 in every 10-15 games you can play the rest forget it when i ran my xb1 back through the hh5 i was dropping 20+ kills most games on a moderate connection when i run through the duma i seem to die quicker most games than i can kill when i challenge. I only wish i had some sort of recording equipment to send you videos of the actual games i get its no joke i can't seem to play more than 1 game in the same lobby and even when i do pull out due to rage there is no guarentee the next lobby i go into i can kill i've gone 5-6 nill down and had to pull out as its just to frustrating to play i just can't understand it if i do full factory resets with the button the duma isn't even deleting all profiles i make or zoom settings it was left at on the radious graph for distance if you saw what was happening in the lobby's you would say yourself that's not right or that shouldn't be happening everything you have listed above i have previously tried i also feel the hyper traffick setting doesn't seem to do anything other than cause stutter i have contacted bt who have monitored the connection and say the line and everything else is fine i just don't know what to try anymore please please help
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted October 11, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted October 11, 2016 If you've tried all of Frasers suggestions, your settings should be correct for gaming unless there is something specific causing the issue. Try checking if there are any devices checked in VPN, as that can cause issues even if you haven't touched VPN. Your next step will likely be doing a ping plotter test though; as well as doing a network diagnostics test. Try downloading Pingplotter and running it for a few hours on something like Twitter for the most accurate results to decipher whether the line is your problem. What is your average ping in a game? Do you get spikes or jitter?
BIGMAN176
Hi Jack my ping in every game is usually 32ms with the line in the ping graph when reading not usually moving that much i've not been on much over the weekend but when I get a chance i'll reset everything again give it a good run and i'll keep you posted thanks again for getting back to me. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 12, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 12, 2016 That is a very good ping and you certainly shouldn't be having any lag issues. When you said split screen is that local? Let us know how you get on.
BIGMAN176
When I say split screen that's me on my profile and my nephew on his profile logged in on my console in the same house then going on tdm on bo3 the games are just unplayable am sick of listening to him moan and tell me he has played on way lesser connections on split screen without a duma when he's with other mates and the games aren't as bad as they are at mine.
