Wake Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 For the longest time I've been a strong believer in Port Forwarding my Xbox so I achieve the "greatest connection possible". But to no avail it seems like sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. Now my question is, should I port forward my Xbox One or should I just leave it and let my Netduma do the magic? For me Call of Duty is about milliseconds and if forwarding a port will help me win the gun fight then that's what I will do. Any advice is helpful. Thanks Guys
Buds Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Never had to do it and the netduma is excellent at handling that side of things. If your NAT is open then it's open. Port forwarding doesn't give you an edge at all. It just helps some people get an open nat due to their setups.
SlingshotGamer Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Ive just DMZ my other Router but i dont Port Forward If NAT is open then its all good
Akic Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 As others have said port forwarding doesn't give you an edge. The only thing having NAT open does is give you the ability to host a match but with the geo-filter enabled your chances of hosting are quite small anyway.
Administrators Netduma Iain Posted April 30, 2015 Administrators Posted April 30, 2015 If NAT is open then job done. It has no difference on latency at all. It just means you can play with more people from the population.
PharmDawgg Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 You mates are clearing up a lot of misconceptions that I have had for years. Cheers.
