R1 & XBOXone. Need help with settings

So first of all, I read all the tutorials, I think I have the r1 set up correctly, but at the moment I feel this r1 was a total waist of money. Not netdumas fault. Maybe i am missing something. Most Lobbies are completely laggy. I'm just getting melted which is not fun. If I'm the party host and we go into a game I just get straight connection f'ed. I can put 5 to 6 rounds into someone and they will have time to turn around and one shot me. If I play solo sometimes it's good and I run around like a cod God other times it feels like there is no hit detection.

I have fios 150mb down 150mb up. I have the r1 connected straight to the wall with 2 Xbox ones connected to it. I also have the fios quantum gateway router connected to the r1 and all other devices including one more xbox one connected to that router. On tje r1 I have upnp enabled in both places on the r1, I have 3074 port forwarded for my XBOXONE-S 3075 port forwarded (3rd Xboxone connected to the verizon (now Frontier) router has port 3076 forwarded.

----------

Select Games / Services

I have my Xbox one S and my Xbox elite in the game service section. I have

Auto Ping Host

Strict Mode

Show Dormant Hosts

Show Legend

Checked, zoom factor at 2.5, filter by distance 3 clicks of the down arrow, ping assist 30ms, I live in downtown Los Angeles and I have the arrow in my area

----------

Anti flood

Set bandwidth both have 150 and set to automatic. Reactive is clicked, download and upload cap both at 70%, Device Prioritisation shared access clicked, Hyper-Traffic both the s and the elite is there.

----------

VPN Enabled Devices

When ever I go to the VPN section I get this notification

"You are using the old VPN setting. It will still work but we recommend reconnecting to the VPN"

How do I set this up correctly or disable it?

----------

Profiles

I tried cod ultimate and it seems to backfire so I have it set to general gaming

----------

Devices

I have FIOS_Quantum_Gateway, XBOXONES, XBOXONEELITE

----------

Miscellaneous Settings

The only thing checked is

Allow auto feedback(no personal data ever) to help improve the R1.

Allow remote access to Netduma tech support.

Enable upnp forwarding.

Enable multicast snooping.

Enable cookies.

Turbo mode.

----------

Hopefully someone can help. Thanks in advanced

Hey, could you clarify your setup please like this:

modem > R1 (consoles) > gateway (other devices) etc so I can visualise it easily.

You should have UPnP OR port forwarding enabled. Not both. Disable UPnP in both places and port forward manually.

It sounds like your radius is quite big, reduce this to ~1000km/650miles.

Don't worry about VPN just make sure none of the devices on it are ticked.

You can disable multicast & UPnP forwarding.

Can you include a screenshot of your internet diagnosis results please.

Also, Black Ops 3 primarily uses port 3075 even with only one system active, so you can not just open port 3074 on one xbox, 3075 on another, and 3076 on a third.  You will certainly have connectivity issues that way.  I would make the adjustments that Fraser suggested, as well as port forwarding all appropriate ports to just one xbox one (3074, 3075, 4500, 3544, 500, 88, 80, 53) and play that way.

If your connection fairs better, you can troubleshoot further from there with regard to figuring out what to do with the other two consoles.

You should also play with your congestion sliders until you can achieve A ratings for bufferbloat on dslreports.com/speedtest

No matter what, you will have issues trying to get all consoles to achieve open NAT's at the same time.

Good luck. Report back

Hey, could you clarify your setup please like this:

Fios ONT > R1 > xb1-1 / xb1-2 / Fios Quantum gateway Modem/Router (g1100) then 1 more xbox and all phones tablets tv's and everything connected to g1100

just did this, xb1-1 got all the port forwarding, any suggestions for the xb1-2?

It sounds like your radius is quite big, reduce this to ~1000km/650miles.

just changed it to 650 and  0ms

Don't worry about VPN just make sure none of the devices on it are ticked.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like everything is connected to the duma which is great, everything needs to be behind it in order for congestion control to work correctly.

For the second console you will need to port forward as Scrizzy advised, this link explains it too https://support.activision.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/Ports-Used-for-Call-of-Duty-Games

You've got a great ping with a little bit of jitter/spikes. It's not terrible but not ideal either.

For your speeds:

  • Reactive Algorithm
  • 100% anti-flood
  • Share excess enabled
  • Reset device prioritisation & apply
  • Disable IPv6 in WAN, LAN & misc
  • Disable deep packet in misc
  • Enable turbo mode
  • Ensure the ethernet cables you're using connecting the R1 to hub & R1 to PC are Cat5e+/can handle your speeds.
  • Do a wired speed test from a PC

Great to hear that!

UPnP disabled, all port forwarding done including XBL and game ports doing 3074/5?

Also make sure to add your friends to your allow list http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022357--with-the-geo-filter-how-do-i-play-with-friends-

the adding friends is a little hard the map kinda sucks when you zoom in all the text is on top and kinda blocks everything.

i just notice with upnp disable only one xbox is open the 2nd xbox in settings/network is moderate but on black ops cause i have 3075 forwarded on that xbox its open on the BO3 screen and the first xbox with all the port forwarding rules in settings/network its oopen but this one has 3074 forwarded and its moderate on the bo3 screen. kinda driving me nutz

Are you referring to the legend as text? Un tick the show legend box so you can see more.

Strange, I don't think this would work but enable UPnP disable all port forwarding except for 3075 for the second console. This will reduce the chance of port conflicts but may help opening the NAT if UPnP doesn't try to open it
