secretface
yo dude I turned on my ping plotter and took a quick screen shot https://gyazo.com/77f6073c31eff00c0cfb63831c0edefb I think you may need to call your isp looks like something is not right
bulletw1st
Yeah, would be a good idea to get a technician out to test the line between the modem and the pole. Bet the frequency is way too high (it tends to do that over time and may have to be equalized every half-decade). It may not be something that can be done over the phone and you really want the line tweaked if you're gaming on it and spent $$ on a Netduma. =p
ColonicBoom
Virgin Media is a UK isp, you need to at least ping something in the UK - not pingplotter's servers. Ping the BBC or something. Plot a graph that shows more time, like an hour or so, 30 seconds tells us precisely nothing. Plot at peak time, not at midnight, 6.30-8.30pm for example. And keep your network free of congestion - turn off your wifi so nothing disturbs the test. And only test wired (in case you were testing wirelessly). Edit - Better still, seeing as we're testing your Virgin line, put your Superhub in modem mode (I always kept mine in modem mode) and connect your computer straight to it. Turn the Superhub off for about 10 mins to clear the RAM (or whatever it's clearing) and then plot your graph.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 6, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 6, 2016 Hey, welcome to the forum! You're pinging a server in the US which automatically means the ping will be much higher. Follow Colonics advice above.
