Evo-L Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Hello, I am running a Arris SB6183 modem --> Netduma R1 (just updated firmware 2 days ago when I got it)--> Home wifi network (Apple routers). Xbox is plugged into Netduma, as well as an ethernet cable running to home wifi routers. My xbox is saying I have a strict NAT and party chat does not work. I have tried disabling Geo fencing (not entirely sure how to do that though, I am just unchecking "enable"), I have checked Enable uPNP, messed with VPN settings, watched the video you guys refer to and it tells me my Xbox is behind a firewall. Im pretty frustrated with this thing so far. Not too sure what to do. Please help. Thanks
Evo-L Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 And every time I power cycle the router it loses all of its settings... very frustrating.
Evo-L Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Also, how do I whitelist someone? I don't have any options to "add" them. Every time I just hit enter it asks me if I want to temp ban someone.
PharmDawgg Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 And every time I power cycle the router it loses all of its settings... very frustrating. Always reboot by using the button under settings>miscellaneous and make sure you have cookies enabled. If you unplug the router it will return to the previous saved settings.
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted June 23, 2016 Netduma Staff Posted June 23, 2016 Hey there, welcome to the forum! First off, you should follow the steps on this page: http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=how_do_i_open_my_nat, if you haven't already. If you have already followed all of these steps, let me know in your next post. You shouldn't need to mess with the VPN settings for this issue. To whitelist a friend, invite them to a private lobby. Their icon will appear on the Geofilter; at which point, click on it. The options will come up, including temp ban. You'll see a "Quality" slider. Set that to 100% and click "Update". You'll see them appear as a circle in the Deny/Allow list within the green band. You've now added your friend! Get back to me with the results of your NAT problem, and I'll help you further.

Hello jack, thanks for the help on whitelisting. I guess I was trying to do it while in a game? As I said in my first post after I watched the video, I clicked the buttons on the xbox controller and it game me that hidden screen. The NAT info said I am behind a firewall... Thanks
Evo-L Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 The only way I can get my NAT back open is if I reset the router then redo all of the settings. There has to be a way to fix this.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 24, 2016 Administrators Posted June 24, 2016 Are there any options you are able to change on the modem interface? Instead of using UPnP, manually port forward the console.
Evo-L Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 Are there any options you are able to change on the modem interface? Instead of using UPnP, manually port forward the console. I did that and it now shows Open, hopefully it stays that way. Such a simple fix, you guys should really consider putting that in your "how to open your NAT" guide.
Evo-L Posted June 24, 2016 Author Posted June 24, 2016 Still getting the same error after manually forwarding ports

Still getting the same error after manually forwarding ports Any other ideas? If it worked and now it doesn't I would hazard to guess the console IP changed. Set up a static IP for it in DHCP lease and make sure the ports are forwarded for that IP.
Evo-L Posted June 28, 2016 Author Posted June 28, 2016 It seems as if I turn off geo fencing as the Xbox boots up I don't have an issue. Is there a way around having to disable it every time? Thanks
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 29, 2016 Administrators Posted June 29, 2016 Is there anything that appears blocked with it enabled when booting up? If so please provide me with the ID. I'll need to add it to the cloud.

The only thing is the NAT says strict and I cannot join party chats. Ive just found out of I disable Geo fencing I am able to join the party chats, then I can turn it back on and Im good to go, unless I need to join a different party. Which ID do you need? Thanks!
Netduma Staff Netduma Jack Posted June 29, 2016 Netduma Staff Posted June 29, 2016 Just the ID of anything that pops up on the Geofilter when it's booting up - the problem could be caused by something being blocked at that stage. You shouldn't have to do that every time, so it's best to get to the cause of the problem. Could you send us a screenshot of your Geofilter, possibly when it's booting up? Also ensure you've added your friends to the allow list http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=adding_friends_to_your_allow_list

Evo-L Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 Can someone log into my router and fix this? It's been a week and I'm about to just return this thing.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 30, 2016 Administrators Posted June 30, 2016 Are you fully zoomed out on the map? Make a post over in the 1 on 1 section and I'll take a look
