Toe_SNE Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I have changed my ISP from Virgin Media to Zen today. All of the issues of high jitter/ interleaving constantly on the line from the previous company had went on for far too long. My speeds have changed, the new speeds after a few tests are 74 down & 18 up. I haven't been able to set up the R1 up along with the router they have provided though. It's a ZyXEL VMG1312-Bx0D I followed a tutorial on how to bridge the router with another (like the R1) on Zen's website, but I just lose internet access after I follow the steps. Then I have to revert the router back to factory settings to regain access. Going round in circles at the minute haha. The netduma is on the current firmware .6
Zennon Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 If you are having no luck with the bridge then use it in router mode and put the dumas WAN IP into the ISP routers DMZ http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=how_do_i_open_my_nat&s[]=open&s[]=nat

In Network settings>Broadband it look's like this though; <a href="http://tinypic.com?ref=de3di8" target="_blank"><img src="http://i66.tinypic.com/de3di8.png"border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a> do I use add new wan interface to add the Netduma Wan IP?
Toe_SNE Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 There isn't a wan IP address showing up for me in device manager too...
Toe_SNE Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 I'm getting this message when I go to settings now too;
fakkel Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I can maybe help, what do you know about bridge mode? And did you follow this manually? http://www.manualslib.com/manual/1021650/Zyxel-Communications-Vmg1312-Bx0d.html?page=70
Toe_SNE Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 Manual (auto correct, grrr) Ill have a look at the link now.

And did you follow this manually? http://www.manualslib.com/manual/1021650/Zyxel-Communications-Vmg1312-Bx0d.html?page=70 https://support.zen.co.uk/kb/Knowledgebase/ZyXEL-VMG1312-VMG8924-Bridge-Mode I used this guide on how to bridge the ZyXEL. So I could connect my devices through the Netduma... but If you could help me to understand how to use "bridge mode" I'd really appreciate it, I've had this new internet for a full day now, but still cannot figure out how to run my xbox's, playstations, phones etc. through my netduma R1.
Toe_SNE Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 In the ZyXEL... Network Setting > NAT > DMZ The R1 WAN IP address showed up once I factory reset. Prior to that it wouldn't show this message; After adding it to the DMZ, I connect the the ethernet from port 1 on the R1 to the ZyXEL but it doesn't load the netduma control panel, chrome just says 'page can't be reached'. When I follow the guide on switch the ZyXEL into bridge mode, the world symbol on the modem which flashes letting you know you have a connection, then turns off and I lose access to the internet. I then have to go back in to restore to factory settings. This is frustrating as fuck, I know I must be missing something, The Virgin Suberhub was shite but It was easy to put into modem mode, leaving all the work to the netduma.

Toe_SNE Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=can_t_access_the_router_home_page&s[]=dashboard I'm able to get onto the netduma control panel now after connecting to the R1 wifi, What's next?
Zennon Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Set up the bandwidth then set the congestion control to 70% if you have other users on your network.
Toe_SNE Posted June 9, 2016 Author Posted June 9, 2016 I was trying to get back on the net after turning on bridge mode, it kept kicking me off each time I enabled it. The last time I couldn't reconnect for like 30-40 mins, this after I followed 'that' tutorial found on Zen website. Since I got back online, I'm not even sure what I have done differently tbh, but I tried enabling bridge mode again and accessing the netduma & both worked this time. I've re attached my ethernet cables to the netduma and I'm going to try and set up my devices and hope I stay connected. I will keep you updated if I have any issues later on but it looks good so far Thanks for help!
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 12, 2016 Administrators Posted June 12, 2016 Great to hear you're connected now, let us know how you get on
