My sons Xbox one has open nat and open on black ops 3 but he cannot join his friends and they cannot join him. Does this sound like a problem with our side and the Duma or do all his friends have bad internet?

Baz your son has a couple of options.  He can make sure his friends have been approved for his geofilter by rating each one like he would a good server, or he can turn off his geofilter while he is playing with a party.  If he adds them to the approved list on the geofilter his friends will be able to connect until  their console IP changes.  Once the IP has changed he will have to add them in again.

Just to add make sure everybody has open nat, if one person doesn't it can cause issues

If you have geo filter enabled and the friends are outside the filter area, they will not be able to join.  You have to add them to the allowed list so the geo filter does not block them.

 

You can add them by having the geo filter disabled and have them join the party (and party chat).  You will then be able to see them.  You then add each one to the allow list.

Agreed if they are outside your GF,it's a no go.

 

IMO the best way to add them is in a private match one at a time,give them a 100 percent rating and you should be all set.I know it's a pain in the ass but you only gotta do it once.
