Lorenzo
Hi everyone ! I got my Netduma R1 today and also updated to v. 1.03.5, followed all the instructions from those links : http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=user_manualhttp://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=fine_tune_netdumahttp://forum.netduma.com/topic/9124-major-router-upgrade-now-available-v-1035/ It's been 2 hours that I'm trying to get lobbies in France but I'm still getting into matches in Reunion Island : indeed, I'm from Reunion Island (see this thread : http://forum.netduma.com/topic/10005-some-questions-about-the-netduma-r1/)and I want to play with people in France. So, I moved the circle like this : http://hpics.li/1af3519 All the boxes are ticked this way and the PS4 is also registered : http://hpics.li/05ca9ad So as you can see in the first image, it seems like that I'm connected to a host in France (big red circle) but all the hosts located in France that I was connected to during the last 2 hours were in fact hosts in Reunion Island. How is that possible ? For example the ping I'm getting with the host in the first image looks like this : http://hpics.li/062c08c The host is obviously located in Reunion Island but it appears in France. I've also tried to move the circle in the UK, it just couldn't find a single match and the dedicated server there has a lock on it, why ? Of course I've waited 2 minutes between each modifications with the GeoFilter. Thanks in advance !
dionysus
Is there an update button for the big red circle?
Lorenzo
Is there an update button for the big red circle? I think so, I don't remember but isn't it for updating the hosts that we allowed/denied ? The fun fact is that when the game BO3 is locating me in Ile de France, France, I'm able to find lobbies located in France without the GeoFilter on. As my ISP has a dynamic IP system, every 24h my router reboot and allocate a new IP address that can locate me in France or Reunion Island. So I reboot my router in order to be located in France (in BO3) and find french lobbies but very often I'm still connecting to local hosts. I was wondering since I could "change" my location just by rebooting my router, can it be possible that the other people living in Reunion has a french IP so that BO3 also locate them in France and when I'm searching for lobbies (with the GeoFilter on) in that country, it connects me to them since my ping is very low with these hosts and maybe that is the reason why I almost always find local matches even if the circle only covers France ? Thanks in advance !
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted December 31, 2015 Netduma Staff Share Posted December 31, 2015 It seams like maybe the host is mis-located. But if the host from Reunion was 15ms, why do you want to connect to France?
Lorenzo
It seams like maybe the host is mis-located. But if the host from Reunion was 15ms, why do you want to connect to France? Because 99% of the local hosts including the one in the picture can't handle above a certain amount of people, the games are laggy (ping goes from 15 to 400 ms every second) and it's just unplayable That is why I want to play on dedicated server hoping I will have a stable ping even if I got 210 ms in France. Just look at the video in the other thread, you will see how bad the hosts are there Yeah I blocked a lot of local host and finally got into some France matches The thing is I have to change my ip by rebooting my router so that BO3 locates me in France and let me search matches in that area, otherwise if it locates me in Réunion, I will just find local matches even if the GeoFilter is enabled in France. Seems like the game is region lock for matchmaking ? I was wondering how I could differentiate a dedicated server to a normal host since it's the same color ? It would be easier for me to camp the dedicated server located in Paris if it was in a different color

Lorenzo
The only way to tell is because the update button won't appear on dedicated servers So after multiple attempts of getting into lobbies from EU/UK dedicated servers, seems like it's not working well for me :/ During 3 hours I tried to move the GeoFilter next to almost all the EU/UK dedicated servers and I just played one time on the UK dedicated server, I think I was so lucky to access to that one, the 3 games I played on this server was so smooth (210 ms constant) and then when I decided to leave the lobby and try to search other matches, nothing ! Furthermore, it seems like that almost all the people living in Reunion Island are located in France according to the GeoFilter so I'm always matching with them which I don't want because of the bad connections, I don't have the time to block all of them and it's taking so much time to find a single lobby... If it's possible I would like someone to do a 1on1 and see if they can do something about it, otherwise I'm gonna' ask for a refund :/ I'm pretty sure that the router is working well in countries that have dedicated servers but for me it seems like it's the contrary. Are you using bleeding edge cloud? if you are, try unchecking it, clicking apply and see if they continue to appear on Reunion.

I just tried without using bleeding edge cloud, still the same. Here's the pictures : http://hpics.li/9dcc93a http://hpics.li/80eb07e Seems like almost all the people living in Reunion Island are located very near to the dedicated server in Paris and I didn't get connected once on this server :/
Lorenzo
And why is there a big lock and also a yellow triangle on the dedicated server(s) in the UK ? I didn't even block them and it's inside the GeoFilter : http://hpics.li/65590f3

Yellow triangle is blocked because its outside geo but if your on a dedi server it will allow other people to connect to the server it comes up yellow because the geo should be blocking but can't because the dedi allows it. Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted January 1, 2016 Netduma Staff Share Posted January 1, 2016 The Netduma isn't really designed to do what you want it to do. It is meant to get low ping lobbies which is exactly what it is doing for you Maybe a 1on1 will help you but in regards to the Netduma's purpose, it is working. That is the reason why I made an other thread before buying the Netduma R1 (http://forum.netduma...view=getnewpost) in order to know if I wanted was possible Iain told me that it should be working, and if not, even after a 1on1, I will get a refund I quote : "Fraser & I have managed to do it with US hosts very easily. The key is to move your home before the game starts. I'm pretty confident it does, and if it doesn't it would be good to know. So if you like make the order and if you can't get games from EU servers e.g. Netherlands, Germany, France, Ireland area. Then just email [email protected] with a link to this thread we will give you refund and pay for packaging on the way back. Cheers!"
