olivia567 reacted to Redflame in Has PPPoe disconnect bug been fixed?
I am moving from my current ISP to a newer ISP.
There may be a chance that my service could go live without the new router arriving yet therefore I may need to plug my R3 directly into ONT until I get new router for DMZ.
I was told not so long back, that there was a disconnect bug with direct PPPoe.

You can do that in Settings > WAN > Advanced then enable DNS Override and you can enter it there

Yes my Nat Type is normally open. My public ip address is static.
Yes I never had issue with PlayStation with getting my Nat type. It seems to be an Xbox only issue. I’ve tested it over several days now just to ensure it’s not rotating several server ID. Upon booting up my Xbox series X speaks to these two servers, they’re both in Brazil on map.

Still doesn’t work. I’ve set my geo location to Dallas Texas and feels the same. I’m dying way too fast and experiencing major lag compensation knowing I should be winning gunfights. tried with both capping speeds and also setting speeds to 1000mbps and setting congestion control to 70%. Just sucks that online games favor ppl with poor connection and penalizing ppl with great connection. Not sure why that’s a thing as most streamers and competitive players who do live in Los Angeles have fiber internet but somehow not experiencing the same problem? Sucks because I have fiber and thinking it’s that so I ended up getting spectrum to see if there’s a difference and it feels the same. I’ve got both my pc and ps5 optimized specifically for warzone gaming. I now currently have both att fiber 1000mbps internet speeds as well as spectrum 500mbps internet plan and neither fix this desync or lag compensation issue

What ping are you getting to the Texas servers then? Try different areas, don't just stick with the one area, experimentation is key

someone helped me optimized my connection and it really helped bring down jitter during buffer bloat and anyone who needs help id recommend getting help from that user. really helped but still experiencing lag compensation. can you elaborate on how to do that last part of your message? i currently live in los Angeles which is i believe one of the major servers for games like call of duty which i play mostly. also just confirming my bufferbloat test works best when setting speeds to 60mbps for both download and upload even with my 1000mbps internet speeds. so when setting geofilter to a different location is it still ok to keep my speeds at 60mbps still?

Hi everyone was wondering if anyone else is experiencing shooting first and dying first? I have att fiber 1000mbps internet plan and live in Los Angeles. I’m experiencing an issue where in most cases I know I should be winning gunfights where I’m shooting at someone and I immediately get deleted in less than a frame. I’m a very competitive player and always the aggressor but seems like I’m dying to casual players where I feel like the servers are favoring them if that makes sense. This also happens with rainbow six siege as well and I play on console and sometimes PC as well. If anyone else is experiencing major lag compensation and desync please help. I’m averaging at 3ms ping because I know live in Los Angeles and call of duty servers are located here if that makes sense so I guess being closer to a server handicaps you and favors ppl with bad connection? Please help

olivia567 reacted to BL4CK OPS V3TRN in 11 years and counting ! my thoughts on the Netduma product
Can't believe it's been 11 years since I joined the forum ,  during that time I have had the R1 / R2  XR500 with R2 OS and now the R3.   Today my R3 is plugged into my Asus RT-AX88U Pro ,   Just a little bit on the Asus :  Rock solid piece of kit with great WIFI coverage and a good amount of gaming tweaks within the  OS  including various different types of QOS , on average we have around 22 wired and wireless devices connected to the Asus no issues ever .  Only the Xbox is a  wired connection  to the R3 ,    I have flip flopped from both routers over the last few months and always go back to the R3 from a connection perspective it just feels much better , for me it is best in class it does what it is supposed to do from a gaming / connection perspective .
HOWEVER -  I had some time over the Xmas break off work and decided to plug the R3 directly into my ONT ,    so all devices connected to the R3 as it is designed to do ,  BTW just to say I think the OS  on the R3 is excellent from a visual perspective and provides so much information and options to fine tune , much better than the Asus in my opinion , the following is what I experienced over a full week  :
Daily drops in WIFI or internet connection  longest period of connection 1.5 days before I re boot  WIFI would not reach as far as my Asus , ring door bell and Hive would not function correctly  Family complaints  Gaming was even better   Where I am going with this ?   Is  this a hardware or software problem ? , I have tried to live solely  on the Netduma router previously but it never delivers on a stable connection as my default network router when everything is connected to it .  If it is  hardware issue hen I for one would be willing to pay more to have an Asus type performance with the Netduma OS .   I know we have had the Netgear experiment but not sure that is still an option mine died a long time ago .
In closing I love the Netduma OS , it is back now plugged into my Asus and in my opinion gives me the best gaming connection on the market without doubt . It is just not capable of being a default network router managing all devices .  You could I suppose without being dis respectful call it a one trick pony ..... but hey it's one hell of a trick

R2, The option to deactivate the Wi-Fi does not allow it to be reactivated by itself. Any solution? @Netduma Fraser

Hello, I set up the netduma r2 that arrived today and I have a question, dual vpn. Is there a way to make all traffic go through vpn and only be able to give some exception (wan) via rules similar to asus fusion vpn? @Netduma Fraser

That would be with QoS disabled most likely though you might be able to get that with QoS enabled

So, 900/600 arrives, but due to the QoS, I suppose it limits this speed, right?

In theory 950/950 but I'd expect something closer to 900/600 in reality

I am not going to use wifi, it will only be basically for a single device and by cable connected to the main router

Correct you won't get symmetric 1000Mbps out of the R2

a doubt they solved the speed limitation netduma r2 the software did not work well with fiber speed 1000mb a few years ago I say it because I chose to buy the r2 that I currently have r1. I remember that I was not able to manage symmetrical fiber due to the software or cpu limitation? @Netduma Fraser

We were testing it so I'll see where we are at with it but you shouldn't get anything outside the radius if ping assist is at 0, strict mode is enabled and the Geo-Filter was enabled before launching the game

Will xdefiant be added to dumaOS? It is a new game but with the current geo filter it does not respect the filtering and gives the peer to a player outside the chosen range

    Hey everyone,
As we continue to work on improving our new DPI system, we're now looking to add as many of your favourite games/applications as possible.
If you have a game you like to play or an application you use that's not classified in DumaOS' DPI system, please fill out the below form so we can get it supported for you.
