  1. hey, there Fraser! I hope you have real joyful things in your life outside of work. cause this launch has been bumpy. With that said, I have also seen the "higher than before" ping in game in Call of Duty. Isn't this the design of the steady ping feature? Doesn't it add a slight "cushion" to the ping variation like a shock absorber? Is it not working? or are you tired to trying to explain to people that it is doing what it was made to do? Please clarify this issue. Thank you and keep your chin up.
  2. I really appreciate your view on this router! I have only the networking experience that I have from owning two netgear routers and I didn't really mess with them. I am not the only one on my network, so every time I mess with the network to find things out, it costs me in relational $ with my family. You only have so many frinedship $ to spend before your family becomes impatient with you. Why do I say all this? Because I really love this new router, the R3 and its software is increadible in my humble oppinion. I have had some questions here in this forum and have also expressed my deep frustration for one reason only. This router seems to be marketed as being this "plug and play" monster. It doesn't seem that is the case at all. Many in here have said that every network is different, and I am realizing that is so true. That would make this router impossible to be a plug and play item because it seems it needs to be tweaked to fit each individual network. Once I finally realized that, it became much easier to understand what the goal was and that if I didn't experiment, I would never get the best results. Maybe change the marketing?
  3. As another person who plays multiplayer Call of duty and BR, I echo your exact sentiment. When the R3 is set up just right, I have that experience of people on the "after death chat" expressing frustration about getting destroyed(multiplayer only). This has never happened for me in warzone. In warzone, nothing runs smoothly when I am in gunfights. It's almost to the level that I don't need to run high alert perk because the game lagging lets me know that there are enemies nearby
  4. some days I wonder man, I'll be honest. I have gotten so frustrated some days that I have wondered if Duma OS is the source of all my problems with call of duty. As you can see from how many duma os routers I have and tried, its been many years that I have had COD problems. But I do think that getting the bufferbloat to zero under load has been a benefit to hit registration. I have given up on any of the other features ever working. I haven't set any of them up and I think they may well all be pipe dreams that the crew gets them working..... But I can hope right?
  5. Hello. I am in the same boat as you. I thought that I was buying what was advertised in all the very well produced youtube advertisements. The hardware looks exactly like the video, however when I try to use the device things are as buggy and frustrating as so many in this forum have reported. I am not an expert in networking by any means and as you can see the R3 is the third Duma os enabled router that I have purchased. Have you gone down the rabbit hole which is bufferbloat? I have discovered that this one thing may be the key to good hit detection in Call of Duty. It may well be that steady ping is unneeded if you get an A+ on the waveform bufferbloat test. I am still running some tests to see if this is indeed the case. Am I still frustrated that I didn't get what I thought I was spending my money on? YES However, if I am able to play Call of Duty without always loosing gunfights because the opponent always sees me first and has eliminated me at the authoritative server before I can even challenge them........ maybe its not what was advertised but in a round about way it will solve the problem that I wanted solved? Still testing and contemplating. Best of luck to you on this frustrating endeavor.
  6. You said, i turn off all the settings in the troubleshooting tab, tree, syn flood, whatever those things are. (I cant remember the exact names) I wouldn't recommend turning those off.... they are security features. I am also unable to load into fortnite after the update....
  7. Possible. at this point most anything is possible. I can say however that I am getting satisfactory results at this point. I did turn on the addblocker for a day and had never used an addblock before of any kind. If I remember correctly it is off by default and may well be the one component that is breaking this whole thing. I have had few problems since I turned that💩back off. I hypothesize that if they gave up completely on that one feature and focus on the gaming aspect that we bought this router for........ it would be increadible!!! I'll bet that if you asked every single person who bought the router if they even considered the addblocker feature when considering purchasing the router...... NO ONE would have said that it was a consideration. HEY DEVELOPERS!!!!!! CAN I GET A BUILD WHERE THERE IS NOT AN ADDBLOCKER EVEN INCLUDED IN IT?????!?!?!?! I HAVE NO INTEREST IN IT AND ONLY WANT THE GAMING FORWARD FEATURES. AND to NET DUMA I say, you sold me a gaming router on the advertisement that it would improve gaming. Stop wasting precious time trying to block adds. STOP IT!!!!!
  8. Or, if you want an easy solution that may not be through enough to get things done, just torn the addblocker off and click the reboot button in the app
  9. If you're willing, I have a suggestion. Factory reset the router. (why do I suggest this? good question! Because that gives you a fresh starting point!) after factory reset, DO NOT TURN ON ADDBLOCKER!!!! I think it is the 💩 that hit the fan. as far as getting the best out of the things in this router that are working (BECAUSE, AND I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH, because I often post sarcastic or negative comments in here, THERE ARE MANY THINGS ABOUT THIS ROUTER THAT ARE WORKING AND WHEN THEY DO, IT IS THE SAUCE THAT WE BOUTGHT IT FOR) set up your congestion controls till you get the A+ grade on the waveform speed test, then your hit detection will be good in Call of Duty
  10. Hey, bad bil, would you let me know if you are using the addblocker? Each one of Us is in here doing our best Sherlock Holms to understand what this router is doing and what is tripping it up for one user whilst another user is not having as many problems. Your answers may help me figure some things out and my answers may help another. We basically purchased an expensive router that is actually a "mystery dinner" so to speak and we could just chuck it in the bin and chalk our losses (we have been duped!) or we can figure what are the best settings in the current build 💩
  11. Are you using the addblocker?
  12. yeah, all the things you suggested made for a much better game experience, with hit registration and also it now seems like the enemy players don't always see me first (most likely this is because the bufferbloat has been fixed)..... and now the but. But, I set it as a gaming console and it doesn't show the graph.... just never shows the graph for me in Call of Duty. I know what it should look like because it always shows in Fortnite. Any other ideas?
  13. Alright my guy! you seem to have answers and a way of clearly explaining things that I hope the support people are taking note of because you seem to be explaining things that others have not been able to clearly explain. SO, the last piece of the puzzle I need to hear from you is exactly now to set up my gaming PC in both the "device manager" and in the geofilter. For years Fraser has said to set up a gaming PC as a playstation in "device manager" this hasn't seemed to accomplish anything for me that is noticeable beyond simply assigning it its real identity. He has never in any of the posts taken the time to explain why I would want to do this. Maybe he knows my PC better than I do and maybe it identifies as a playstation?!?! Either way, could you explain in detail how to set this all up? thanks in advance
  14. Oh, yeah, I have done this before, both when its in filtering mode and when its just in "observing" mode. But each time the result is the same as when it auto pings it..... nothing or at best tells me that it "can't ping server"...... I am ever the optimist though, so later today after my obligations in life, I will load up the software that I am paying to beta test (I hope at the very least net duma sends me a nice thank you card when Christmas comes around cause I spent my Christmas money on being an unpaid and underappreciated beta tester for a router that was advertised as having functioning software.... we truly live in a crazy world!!!!) I'll let let you know later Fraser what I see. Imagine if Fraser comes clean people and tells us that he is not paid to work in this forum, but he has the Duma OS disease that we all seem to have (waiting hoping for a gaming router that actually works) but he as it worse than any other person and actually pays Net Duma to allow him to work overtime moderating a forum where everyone is frustrated...... Imagine
  15. First wanted to apologize, I have expressed how irritated this router has made me at times because it doesn't work quite as well as advertised. For as bumpy as the launch has been, I do think it is on the cutting edge and I am exited about it achieving the claims made about it. Maybe that's why it irritates me so much because I have high expectations. My device is a gaming PC. Programs usually running are discord, a chrome browser with the duma os interface on the monitor and call of duty running and displaying on the second monitor. How would I manual ping the server? I am not the best in life, if you can give me clear steps I will try this out and get back to you.
  16. the more I think about it though, being in this forum is like watching a tv show where the people in the show are so incompetent and yet so proud that they can't even see how bad they are. But in this forum you can interact, its better than TV!!! This might become my new hobby as well!! I honestly think the only thing that will cause me to loose interest is if they fixed the duma os software...... and anyone who has been waiting on that to happen for any length of time will know that we have years entertainment ahead of us. This upcoming episode could be titled v4.0.24 over-promise and underdeliver". I can hardly wait..
  17. How are you satisfied with a company putting out extremely well produced youtube videos making claims about this R3 router and then when you buy it and it doesn't work you end up in a forum trying to trouble shoot it and no one will be honest and admit that it fell far short of what they claimed. If you went and bought a car and they claimed that it could go zero to 60 in 2 seconds but after purchasing it you found that it didn't even have a working transmission, what would you think? Would you say, "oh, just wait until their brilliant engineers come up with a working transmission and it will be great?" OR would you listen to the support staff who would say something like, "until we get a working transmission you can always get it up to speed quickly by dropping it out of a plane, there is nothing wrong with the car we sold you!!" This is ridiculous
  18. I I really appreciate you bringing up the fact that networking has so many variables. I get that there are many variables outside of my control. I am frustrated and here in this forum because this router that claimed (falsely I might add) that it could deal with some of those variables is not working as it claims it would. I spent 3 hours last night going through the steps that you said to do to get the ping graph to work in the geo filter. After countless resets I saw something in the comments of a youtube video about the R3 (where yet again people were commenting on how it didn't work as advertised) the guy making the video said that if you had gaming prioritized as well as a console or a PC it caused problems. SO, I did yet another reset and resynced the cloud in all the places on the router and tried that and for one game of call of duty, the graph worked. But it wasn't repeatable, it hasn't worked again.
  19. Has anyone over there at duma os ever considered that Activision has programmers who are actively causing duma os to falter when trying to geofence or stabilize ping? After all, its been shown over and over that if you do well in a game of call of duty the next lobby you get into has a higher ping. Then if you still do well your ping gets higher and jitter seems to increase. I only have two games on my PC, MW3/warzone and fortnite. with fortnite, the geofilter and the ping stabilization graph work as advertised. Maybe just stop saying that you can solve the netcode issues with call of duty and I will thank you for you honesty. Or actually make the router you sold me work as you said it would? Imagine if you bought a new car and you put it in drive and it went backwards? you get ahold of support and they say, "have you tried putting it in reverse to see if it goes forward?"
  20. Tell me more about this ASUS GT-AX6000 router. I have an xr500 and an xr1000 and swore I would never buy another netgear router after neither of them ran Duma OS very well and there were always problems. I took a chance that maybe the R3 would be a different experience as it was a netduma product running the duma OS..... and now as another person in this forum said, I have an expensive paper weight. Does the ASUS GT-AX6000 prioritize gaming traffic and why the heck did you buy the R3 paperweight in the first place?!?!
  21. you say that "it definitely does work". You you even own an R3? You say it works and then tell me try this, and it doesn't work. Then you say try this, and that doesn't work. It has NEVER worked. Is there any other other people there at net duma who can explain how to make this router work? I have my gaming PC which is showing the duma os interface on one monitor while I try to run Call of duty on the other monitor. In the geofilter tab, the graph has NEVER ( I have to type in all caps because Fraser doesn't seem to understand that it has NEVER worked) worked. I have tried to disable the geolatency. I have tried it with the geolatency on. I have tried with the PC set up in the device manager as a playstation and that didn't work either. I have the ipv6 turned off for both WAN and LAN. I am on the v4.0.23 Anyone actually have an R3 and can explain how to make it work as advertised?
