Disrek reacted to Netduma Justas in NEW XR1000/XR1000v2 Beta Firmware: DumaOS 3.3.688 Access Request
Hello to all XR1000 and XR1000v2 users!
We're finally ready with a new DumaOS update for XR1000 and XR1000v2.
This update introduces updates and fixes for our DPI cloud synchronisation. Users will now receive our latest DPI database versions as soon as they're released. This means support for new games in Geo-Filter, Traffic Prio and Traffic Controller. You'll see new titles like Marvel Rivals are supported in Geo-Filter, and new titles like Path of Exile 2 are supported in Traffic Prioritisation.
We've also fixed the issue from the previous version where there were no default lists in Adblocker. Now you can begin blocking ads straight away with the click of a button, and the lists will update automatically over time.
There are also some backend fixes, including security improvements.
This firmware was created to fix any lingering bugs with the feature set of the XR1000, and deliver on all of the features promised when the XR1000 was sold. However it does not introduce any of the exciting new features from DumaOS 4, such as SmartBOOST and Geo-Filter 2.0. For the time being, these features are exclusive to the Netduma R3 gaming router, and we can make no promise that they'll make their way to the XR1000.
That said, XR1000 users will continue to receive updates for compatibility with the latest games via Netduma's DPI cloud, and security updates will be provided by Netgear.
To request beta access, please reply to this post.

Disrek reacted to Slamchez in Strange Disconnects Cutting Off Internet Access
Hi everyone,
I've been using my R3 for the past couple of weeks with little to no issue. Everything is generally moved over aside from two smart plugs that are still attached to my XR1000 in AP mode. Unfortunately a couple of days ago I started waking up to no internet access on only some devices. For example, my brother's xbox does not connect and my mother's streaming device no longer connects. However, my phone still works as well as the living room streaming device and I can connect to the router through the iOS app.
I have so much on the network that I assign everything a v4 ip address. When this happened yesterday, I went ahead and disabled the v6 addresses as I thought this may be causing some kind of conflict, even thought v4 addresses were assigned.
This morning it was the usual suspects again so I started checking other devices before I rebooted the router. The iOS app tells me everything is online and accounted for. All devices aside from my phone and the obvious things like iPads and things on the network are wired.
Once again:
- The Xbox does not connect to the internet.
- Mom's streaming device is not connecting.
- My phone is able to access the router.
This time I additionally checked:
- My Mac mini was not connected and I was unable to access the router with it. It said it was online and was assigned its addresses in the Networking section of Settings.
- I booted my gaming PC and it was not assigned its ip address.
At this point I turned off the XR1000 ( I won't need it until later for the smart plugs) rebooted the router and all seems well.
What can I do to troubleshoot this? Is there some log file I can access somewhere? Or even any place I can look to give a hint as to what, if any, device could be causing this to happen?

Disrek reacted to Slamchez in Random disconnects with new firmware
So I have a very lengthy thread over here with what seems to be a similar issue. Same thing, disconnect, reboot router, could last a couple days but no more than a week. I've tried disabling DHCP and that did not resolve it. One of my next steps was to do a factory reset as well but it seems that won't resolve it either. I want to see if there are any similarities between us that may help narrow things down:
1. Are the devices cutting out *only* on LAN/wired or is it everything? I think you answered this earlier but I just want to make sure. WiFi still works fine for me when this happens.
2. Just to be clear, no IPs are reserved either manually on device or via the router's DHCP? I've had it Bothe ways and it still happened.
3. Are there any devices on the network that do a lot of sleep/wake type of stuff? Like consoles that check for updates or streaming boxes that just poke their head up and drop back off? If so, are they wired or wireless? I have a handful of things wired that do this.
4. I noticed that devices do reconnect to my router when this happens but never get assigned an IP. Have you noticed anything like that happening?
5. Have you noticed any relatively consistent time of day? My router seems to like between 1 and 4 am generally.
If I think of anything else I'll post.

I can say I don't even get a day uptime unless I set my AP's with a local static IP through the devices themselves. Once I do I can get the R3 to last a few days before it disconnects. Devs really need to fix DHCP, never really heard of a router requiring you to assign static IP through your devices to keep the router stable before.

@Netduma FraserThis issue is happening to me as well. Just thought letting you guys know. I tried factory resetting R3 but it was of no help. All my devices gets randomly disconnected twice a day.

Anyone else experiencing this?
Ever since upgrading the firmware I've had the router disconnect all devices from the internet for seemingly no reason. One night I had to reset the thing 4 times.
I thought this issue was fixed?

Disrek reacted to DARKNESS in How to get OPEN NAT in COD PS5 with R3
@LiarnUPNP is broken at the moment so if your on console the easiest method is just putting it on dmz but if you don't want to then manual port foward which is time consuming so your choice till it gets resolved.

I can see you’re on Fraser. And I’m waiting patiently to try new firmware that I still don’t have access to. Remember @fraserwe are watching you 👀

I don't understand why you don't make the FW freely accessible to those who want to install it and vice versa. always ridiculous decisions. We have been waiting for 4 months for disconnection problems there may be a solution but you still have to wait for someone to give you access to the solution

Disrek reacted to JoyKiller in Switched from Xr1000 to Netduma r3
I agree, the WiFi range was a little short for us in our house too. I got an ASUS router, and put the R3 in its DMZ for our gaming devices with its WiFi disabled. It's working well for us with the ASUS handling WiFi and TV's etc. and the R3 can focus solely on gaming. Another idea is maybe disable WiFi on the R3 and set the XR1000 up as an access point for WiFi?
Two routers might not be the ideal setup, just throwing out a couple of ideas.

Disrek reacted to kay in Switched from Xr1000 to Netduma r3
I recently switched to netduma r3 router which i lowkey like better then the xr1000 when it comes to prioritization and the interface.
However with netduma r3 router there's issue with the Wi-Fi being disconnect and it doesn't have the same wifi range in compare to the xr1000 router.
im considering switching back to xr1000 and returning the netduma r3 router.

Disrek reacted to Frederik in This product is in beta idk who thought it was ok to release
The webpages taking ages to load most likely doesn’t have anything to do with the router. But I agree it’s getting ridiculous with how long it’s been since any worthwhile updates.
Settings getting reset every time the router is rebooted and most of the reasons why people bought this router aren’t functioning as they’re supposed to. It’s basically just a really expensive paperweight with no more functionality than an ISP provided router, but a whole lot more issues…

Disrek reacted to spacialrend in This product is in beta idk who thought it was ok to release
Basic functionality is important, if I can't use the router on a wired connection for more than 30 mins without it disconnecting, what's the point?
Not to mention, on wifi webpages take ages to load despite having 300 up/down. C'mon guys, you can't charge $200 for something like this that doesn't even work properly. We need an update ASAP.

Disrek reacted to steelcity403 in Bye bye R3
I turned off the WiFi completely on my R3 and added some TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro's in AP mode with ethernet backhaul to solve the issue with my WiFi dropping out constantly. Wired has been pretty stable 99.9% of the time so no real complaints there. Using the Deco's in AP mode allows be to have fantastic WiFi that doesn't drop out and still have the benefits of DumaOS for gaming.

Disrek reacted to wdz in Bye bye R3
I will write again, a regular router for $40 has better results. for a speed test than the super overrated r3. the new r3 is waiting in the box and I still play on the supplier's router because it is better. didn't you understand something?
