    Hi everyone,
We have a brand new R3 firmware for you. It includes many important fixes based on the feedback we received since the launch, including addressing issues with Steady Ping and Geo-Filter 2.0 to make them more reliable. The full change log is provided at the bottom of this thread.
Over the next few days, you will be able to upgrade automatically by clicking on the 'Update Available' option in your user interface (both mobile and desktop). However, if you prefer, you can manually upgrade your R3 now using a PC or laptop by following these steps:
Download the attached upgrade file. Reboot your R3 - this is a one-off as this new firmware contains improvements to make manual upgrading smoother in the future. Go to the Netduma R3 user interface on your PC/laptop. Navigate to >Settings >Troubleshooting and then click Upload Firmware. Choose the file and then upload it. You'll need to wait a few minutes for the upload to complete.. If you upgraded to version 4.0.40 last week, we recommend upgrading to this new 4.0.41 as soon as possible. The previous firmware had a niche packet reordering bug affecting login issues for games like Fortnite. It also made Geo-Filter 2.0 less reliable. These issues are now fixed in the latest release.

    What's Next?
Good news: Hybrid VPN development is complete for the R3 and is now in testing. We've redesigned the frontend for Hybrid-VPN to make it easier and clearer compared to DumaOS 3. We're excited for you to try it out! In the next few days, we'll be moving it to closed beta testing, and if all goes well, we should have it with you very soon along with fixes to make Ping Optimiser run more reliably and improved IPv6 support.
Please continue to provide us with your feedback so we can keep making your R3 experience better and better.

Thank you for using the Netduma R3.

And yet here you are still 😃
The R3 is a mighty leap forward compared to the R2 and also the initial Netduma R1. I currently own an XR500, 700, 1000, Netduma R1, 2 and 3 and even with the current issues the R3 out preforms all of them easily. The firmware will be released when its released coming in here with negative comments and talking about refunds isn't going to make them release it any  quicker.
I'm glad they're making sure the firmware is as great as it can be before its officially released. I'm sure if they released smaller updates most people would still complain and say just fix everything in one big update. Steady Ping and Geo Latency and Duma OS 4 are all new features so you'd expert the od bug here or there.
I'm sure when the new firmware is released it will be well worth the wait and everyone will enjoy it 😃

mpmatx got a reaction from Netduma Fraser in EA - NHL Servers
Access to NHL in Ping Heatmap would be awesome!
The issue with Ping Assist in NHL is that the ping to the server isn't the same as in-game ping.  I have 1GB fiber and can regularly get low ping (7-14ms) to servers.  The issue is really server ping vs in-game ping.  I live roughly 200 miles from the closest group of servers and regularly get sub-10ms in both server ping and in-game ping.  However, the further the server, the more I see an increase in the in-game ping.  The next closest servers are roughly 950mi away, I regularly get 10-12ms server ping, but the in-game ping is between 35-50ms.  When I am matched on the servers in Canada (2,000+ miles away) I can still get a sub-20ms server ping, but the in-game ping shoots up to 55-80ms at best.  I realize that in some games 80ms might be a good ping, in NHL, unfortunately, it's brutal.  That's why I try to avoid Ping Assist or set it to a max of 5ms.  Even at a max 5ms Ping Assist, I still get "high" ping games (50-80+).  I should also mention that in NHL there is a "Max Ping" search setting in-game, however, the longer the search for a game is, the more that internal "Max Ping" setting is ignored.
    Thanks again Liam!
