  1. It seems like it would be a wise decision to implement/backup logs after reboot at this point. So many of these issues everyone experience either reboot or lock out the admin portal until a reboot thus leaving no record of what caused it. I will try disabling it, but with geofilter being disabled I have a $200 router that barely functions as a router?
  2. Can I also make one seemingly quick update request regarding having simple mode for steady ping being disabled after reboot??
  3. Also, as an additional new issue... The router has now rebooted 3 times on its own in the last hour. No rhyme or reason, nothing new is attached to the network. Attaching logs and screenshots of some weird pieces R3_2024-03-08T20_58_04.183Z_logs.txt
  4. No modem, connected directly from ont to router I have done this, when I do, the Xbox fails to get a teredo IP address. The only fox is to reboot the modem everytime.
  5. Here is some quick screenshots of the logs
  6. Over the last few days, I've been having new issues with port forwarding and upnp. I have 3074 port opened for my Xbox but it will consistently switch away to one of the 50*** ports and doesn't allow nat translation, if I turn on upnp and leave port forwarding on, it will work for one session then breaks completely until I reboot. I have another device that has also been breaking because of upnp not working. Any ideas on what would cause a sudden issue?
  7. It's only showing 7.2gb for the day, but when I enable router traffic it's showing 17.2gb just for the router?
  8. @Netduma Fraseralso seeing some really weird data within smartboost... It showing 9.5gbps worth of live network activity at moment?
  9. @Netduma Fraser When I resync the ping heatmap I get a bunch of no error saying this below, I have the logs and screenshots also showing a bunch of other odd errors. Is this what's supposed to be showing? cli.lua[4324]: md5sum: can't open './usr/r6siege_dataset.lua': No such file or directory daemon.err cli.lua[4324]: md5sum: can't open './usr/rocketleague_dataset.lua': No such file or directory daemon.err cli.lua[4324]: md5sum: can't open './usr/tf2_dataset R3_2024-02-23T22_56_08.782Z_logs.txt
  10. I can reproduce this issue, but only after the router have been up for 3 or more days..
  11. I believe this may be what is causing issues with slow wifi/slow wired connections. It would make sense to some level as when the router crashes from a geofilter resync, and the admin page gets stuck on loading page the WiFi, wired speeds dramatically increase until the device reboots
  12. Because you had filtering disabled???
  13. That's exactly why it was so strange! Not only is the lan ports on the R3 limited to 1Gbps, but the lan port on the Xbox is also limited to 1Gbps. And yes once I rebooted the router I was able to access the dashboard and app again, but it also returned the speeds back to under 350 Mbps on wired and wireless, I needed to reboot though as the router was able to achieve higher speeds it seemed like it was locking up/hanging every few seconds or so. I did have another series of issues today and a bunch of strange things within my log, I will upload the log when I get back to my laptop, but the router became completely unstable and was dropping WiFi devices every minute or so.
  14. Tried to resync the geofilter cloud data, router hasn't been rebooted in 4 days, and during the resync the router completely locked up, the RGB lighting has been going off and on/stuttering.. but the Internet connection didn't drop and for the first time EVER with this router I'm actually seeing speeds that I'm paying for, both from wired and wireless (wireless download speed is still garbage, but the upload gives me hope) through wired when the router is functioning "normally" I can't get anything higher than 350-400 Mbps download or upload (2Gbps down and up Google fiber connection) but some the router crashed, I have been getting on my series X 1.2Gbps, 1.5Gbps, nothing less then 1 Gbps and on the upload I haven't gotten less than 430 Mbps, along with ping being no higher than 30 which is amazing! On wireless, I have been pulling more than 300 Mbps download and 600-800+ Mbps on upload(no idea why upload is higher...) but this is also the first time I ever seen higher then 300 Mbps on either over wireless! So it just seems like to get the best possible speeds, I need to wait a few days for the router to become unstable with geofilter refreshes, and I'm good! The only downside is I can't access or use anything on the router as the main page is stuck on loading features please wait(20+ minutes now) and the app just returns an unexpected error has occured. I will attach photos from my Xbox showing the download and speed test from Mobile app
  15. I finally got full bandwidth from wireless and wired, but only for a little bit as I had to reboot the router because it crashed when I tried to resync the geo filter cloud data. lights froze, everything locked up and then the RGB lights on the front stopped working but the WiFi came back up, I wasn't able to use the app or the browser to login to the router as it was locked on the features loading, please wait screen.... BUT! I finally pulled over 800 Mbps on WiFi and my wired Xbox!! After the reboot though, everything went back to mediocre, nothing above 500 Mbps on a 2Gbps Google fiber connection. The sole promising thing to this event is that at least I now know that the router can actually perform above 500, but the downside is that it's only when all of the software locks up and stops working... Hoping for the firmware update to get it working to base expectations soon!
  16. @mstutz2319 is your att gateway box a bgw-210 or 5268ac? ATT gateways are terrible with their DMZ+/IP Passthrough. For the 5+ years I had ATT fiber(just moved to an area with Google fiber) I used the dumb switch bypass to take it out of the equation and I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. All you need it a gigabit Ethernet switch and it should only take 5-10 minutes. Link on how-to is here: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/r32491796-bypass-att-pace-gateway
  17. Make sure you have speedboost turned on if you're trying to use ping optimize or speed test.
  18. @Netduma Fraser I have a few questions now regarding the WiFi 6 and if it's even possible on this device.. After doing some research, trying to solve why the routers wifi speeds are running extremely slow, I came across a few article's from other sites and from WiFi alliance that state for any wifi 6 routers/AX chips they must support WPA3. I remember this being something that other routers required for me to use 160mhz and to take full advantage of WiFi 6 in the past. However, the R3 doesn't provide or seem to have WPA3. This leads to my question, does this router truly provide WiFi 6 or does it state it has WiFi 6 but can't utilize the true functionality of it because of not having WPA3? Here are 3 links and screenshots showing that this is a requirement: https://www.wi-fi.org/discover-wi-fi/security https://www.cablelabs.com/blog/wi-fi-alliance-launches-wi-fi-certified-6-certification-program https://www.extremenetworks.com/resources/blogs/wireless-security-in-a-6-ghz-wi-fi-6e-world#:~:text=The Wi-Fi Alliance mandates,ax radios must support WPA3.
  19. @Netduma FraserSome quick updates, logs and screenshots I thought might have some interesting information: .23 update on Geo-Filter issues: (Updated to .23, then factory reset, current settings are split wifi, disabled all router protections in troubleshooting section, set static IP for Xbox, UPNP Enabled) I have gone through and adjusting all settings, turning things off and on one at a time and I have come to a few conclusions and interesting tidbits; - When first booting up the app after starting COD, opening to geo-filter directly never shows any activity, I need to click off geo-filter (I usually select device manager) wait a second or 2, then go back to geo-filter and servers and everything then appears. - If Geo Latency is off, the map does not report any servers or information, but based on system logs, it does appear to be doing what it's supposed to do, but the map just doesn't show the information (Tested through Desktop, cleared browser cache, and Mobile App, cleared app cache, uninstalled and reinstalled app just to be safe) - With Geo-Latency on, Xbox Series X (set to Xbox in device manager) using simple boundary, strict enabled, fast disabled, and ping assist set between 35ms-60ms blocking works as expected. (YAY!) - With Geo-Latency on, Xbox Series X (set to Xbox in device manager) using simple boundary, strict enabled, fast disabled, and ping assist set under 30ms blocking seem to stop working, and start connecting to servers with 60ms+ and outside boundary. (Odd) ( in particular 25ms seems to be the really bad breaking point, where it starts doing everything really wrong) - Ping assist set to 0, blocking seems to be functioning as expected with same info as above. (YAY!) Some great things: - Smart Boost stats for nerds page is awesome! I LOVE THIS PAGE, I do find it odd that it reports information even with it being disabled, but nonetheless it is some very interesting information On some other issues reported and feedback rant on-going problems reported: I'm not a developer, but I have spent the better part of 15 years product testing equipment for nearly all major tech companies, and it seems pretty simple(simple is used very loosely in this) and one of the most annoying things that seems to happen with all Netduma issues being reported is, it's always something on the end user side that's the issue, and that it couldn't possibly be something wrong with the software or hardware. (insert, Port forwarding issues, wifi issues, wifi range issues, router deciding stop randomly lock up, etc) Unless, it's something that Netduma acknowledges as not working from the release date(Hybrid VPN, Ping optimizer) No matter the amount of reported issues, multiple threads opened, the response everyone seems to always receive is "This is completely unexpected, and no one else has reported anything like this" It's also most likely aggravating to y'all to have multiple post, in multiple threads, with next to zero information being provided about issues, and then having little to no visibility to see how many people are having said issue. I don't know if would be possible to create a seperate sub forum for issue reporting only, that would require a log file and whatever setting configurations would be beneficial for your team to be aware of, then have a thumbs up or down for people to report having the same issue(If they thumbs up, maybe require these people to attach a log also) having the thread locked from having replies from anyone thats not Netduma, and have one of y'all post a possible solution, and another thumbs up or down if it resolves the issue. This would make it a lot easier for end users to report issues in a way your team can find benefiscal, being able to track amount of users experiencing said issue, and having a simple path to provide a resolution/possible resolution to the masses, without having to dig through 50+ threads to find an outdated fix, and then causing your team to respond to the same issue 100's of time. Just my 2 cents on maybe a better way of getting things cleaned up/stop the multiple post across multiple threads for the same issues. RApps Issues: - Xbox traffic in stats for nerds, is being reported as Samknows, Always see screenshot below - Ping Optimizer seems to work pretty well, but only works when smart boost is enabled (Verified this to be fact based on system logs showing it wouldn't start the process until smart boost is enabled - Smart Boost might not be turning off, even when selecting disabled (Could be the cause of the wifi issues, attaching logs and screen shots showing when I disable smartboost, it seems to state that it's still enabled in system logs) - One small note to make with Smart Boost, the router absolutely DOES NOT LIKE having every activity enabled, lol. It crashes the app and makes accessing the dashboard page even from hardwire near impossible. Very minor issue, but thought it was interesting. - Seeing a very odd, conntrack error in the system logs, log is attached and a screenshot of this message WIFI issues: - The Wifi is definitely broken between all updates I have used (.16, .19, .20, .23) regarding Max Throughput/Max Mbps seen in speed test, without question. My network speed is ATT Fiber 2 Gbps with a CAT8 cable. I can set the router in a space where no electronics are nearby, using a wifi 6 compatible device (Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, Oneplus 11, Samsung S23 Ultra, Lenovo p1 6th Gen laptop with wifi 6e card), along with having split wifi, and using 160 Mhz bandwidth(Also tried on every bandwidth, as recommend... even though this seem to be counter productive..) channel 128 ( in area there are 0 on channel) and standing 2 feet, 5 feet, 10 feet etc etc with direct line of sight and antennas pointed in the recommend configuration, along with disconnecting every item from the network, and speeds will never reach above 400 Mbps on download or upload. and to clarify a VERY key item, I can unplug the R3, connect my 6 year old XR500 (with no Wifi 6...) and my wifi speeds are 800+ Mbps on download and upload, consistently . This is a annoying issue, and based upon the multiple threads about this, this isn't a isolated issue and I have yet to see 2 people report their wifi performing anywhere near expected. (I did see one, but without any proof that speeds were seen over wifi) - Port Forwarding doesn't work, at all. minor issue since UPnP seems to work perfectly fine at the moment. Minor issue Overall: Even with the issues that I have experienced with this router, the router when it is working for gaming, work amazing! and the other issues I have experienced while extremely irritating, are not issues that are making me want to drown the router in water (Some test devices I have really wanted to do this) and for small company, with a niche product, this is going to continue to get better and better! Thank you for the continued support and constant interaction within your forums! R3_2024-01-04T06_47_26.527Z_logs.txt
  20. When you reboot the R3, steady ping turns back on automatically, make sure to go back in and disable it
  21. Update on missing servers on skip ahead alpha: I have finally gotten servers to appear and able to ping them! It seems that .23 update doesn't have anything appear with the simple circle boundary, geo latency, steady ping and fast search disabled, ping assist off and strict enabled, along with all options enabled. However when I disable steady ping and fast search, while enabling geo latency, strict search AND turning ping assist on(set it to 60ms and still using simple circle boundary) all servers appear and I'm finally able to block, allow, and see server information. I'm going to see what is making it work by disabling single items until it stops once again.
  22. Insider skip ahead alpha, when I do a speed test it does show activity. On the .19 it showed active servers
  23. @Netduma Fraserhere's some interesting logs, it looks like the router is filtering out items, but it's just not showing on the map, or any of the data.
  24. @Netduma Fraser Updated, and did a factory reset just in case. Still showing no servers appearing when playing Xbox at all. I have strict enabled, geo latency turned off, steady ping disabled, rebooted, etc still showing nothing. Would disabling IPv6 on the lan or wan side help?
  25. Yes, updated to .20 and now uploading the firmware sent by Fraser.
