What do you mean it just stops working? Internet goes down? Interface not accessible?

Set a static IP for the R1 in your ISP hub & set static IPs for devices on your R1.

There's a guide to setting static IP's here: http://support.netduma.com/support/solutions/articles/16000022403-how-do-i-set-an-automatic-static-ip-

You can set static IP's for devices in the DHCP Lease page of the R1. Just tick "reserved" on the device and then type a number between 100 and 250.

Is it definitely a modem you have or a combo? Do you have the blue box on device manager? If yes that should take you to the interface and you can set a static IP for the R1.

Switch out the ethernet cable connecting the R1 to modem, as all devices connected to the R1 are dropping a cable could be the issue.
