RADDY1993
I have to say using Raddy's settings of 100/10... I was consistently at the top of the leader boards even if my team lost (TDM). I think he cracked the code The problem, however, is this almost without a doubt "proves" how bad the algorithm Treyarch / Activision uses for their netcode. We're basically throttling out bandwidth and adding latency so-to-speak, yet we're getting a tangible benefit out of it Note, I put proves in quotations because what we have right now is not indisputable, statistical evidence. Just anecdotal and emperical data that is pointing to a correlation that the worse (or lower) your upload, the better the game plays. As for Bagsta, who asked about delayed response to the server... No. In fact, if this theory holds correct, it's adding latency to your opponent who may be dropping dead without seeing who killed them? I was on Infection, and killed snipers in the church window TWICE with long shots from the HKV. They weren't moving.. on my end... But this makes me wonder what they saw on their end as a result of me throttling my badnwidth? I didn't look at the kill cam because I was just amazed at how much better the game feels... even more so than before... With these new settings. One last thing, most people ARE playing on wireless connections. I know this because I was listening in on in-game chat and some of the kids said how their wireless connections were dropping out because of their cell phones and also their moms and dads watching something on Netfilx. So, all the horror stories of how people don't optimize their connections are true, apparently. The good news is we now have something to combat this and level the playing field so-to-speak... Well for me i was getting host alot of the time and that sucks as everyone in the lobby is kind of leaching off you if your host i assume unless you have gargantuan internet you get the lag comp and thats what lags some people out. i found that drastically lowering your upload takes the above problem away thus giving smoother games, well in my case anyway and it now seems a few others. Im sure this wont work for everyone but as i said previously you just need to try things out and not for like 1 or 2 games but for a day or so. Sir_smooch
Well I have a theory that this game doesn't have dedicated servers as such and that picks a part host in someway! It's just I've noticed that even if my game is connecting on fire and braining everyone there will always be one guy that I just can't kill consistently, maybe once or twice in the match but majoritively will beat me somehow to the bullet! Now even though I'm playing well and feel detection isn't spongey and the majority of my team of randoms will get neg kdr I can finish with even or posi kdr whilst the majority of the other players on the opposing team will finish with a positive kdr! . As soon as I am matched up with that same guy who was melting on the other team its like I can't miss and am often challenging for the top spot overall!! All this could just be coincidence but I find it happening more games than not ending up with very lop sided lobbies
JConnor
There are dedicated servers, but the problem is a lot of them are mislocated / mislabled? For example, I clicked on the "Kansas" server and it came up as NYC -- What I had labeled a server a few days after I bought the Netduma about nine months ago! On the same note, I did a trace route using the Duma... Which Fraser and others say is outdated... But it's fairly accurate, IMO. My physical home location is always the starting point, it goes directly to Kansas -- That I assume is a MM server & player sever farm -- And then it hits a few Mid-West and East Coast servers like Chicago, NY, Missouri and even goes to the UK where it finally comes back to me in America. Now, this may be inaccurate, but the statistical proof is I ping 50ms to the Chicago server and less than 30ms to the Kansas city server farm.. Which is a direct shot according to the trace route vs. hitting Kansas before it hits Chicago. This may all be just MM, but I feel the "lag" on the Chicago server versus playing on the Kansas one. So, make of that what you will...
JConnor
I did some more testing with Raddy's settings, this time on the PC. My in-game ping was 100 when I throttled. It didn't play as smoothly as the console did. Hit detection was spot on, but I was experiencing the "drop dead without seeing who killed you" phenomena that is not present on consoles when throttling. So, for BO3 PC... Which is dying regardless... I think normal 100/100 is probably best. I knew CoD on PC was a lost cause, but I bought it mainly for offline bot practice I can take anywhere on my gaming laptop. Also, one thing nobody has brought up yet is the difference in client hardware. Consoles are all AMD tech whereas most gaming PCs are Intel and Nvidia. I think this may actually have a greater impact in terms of processing latency (throttled or not) because AMD has less I/O than Intel does. This isn't fanbody talk. This is statistical fact. So, if it takes longer to process combined with all the various internet complexities this very well may be a big factor nobody has identified as of yet? The older CoDs were on 360 which had an Intel CPU and AMD graphics chip. Coincidence? Hmm...
Yam Yam
I didn't direct my statement to anybody, just a general statement.. Like I said, I sit here and read over threads.. and at least half of the questions asked are in the Wiki or so many other threads about the same thing that's already been answered.. With so many more people buying the Netduma, expecting it to do something it's not designed to do. Then get mad, bash the product or the service because they have this idea that this router is going to fix their ISP issues with high ping, the fact they aren't really good at the game, or fix the problems within the game itself.. I could care less if people have questions, as they all get answered by somebody at sometime.. we all buy the router in the hopes of a better gaming experience.. It does everything it is currently designed to do for me.. I could not be happier with my NETDUMA.. This forum is a great way to gain not just knowledge about this router, but all things gaming related.. Just my thoughts on a subject, I agree, I answer the same questions to users, I'm just puzzled why you bought it up as we already know about all the questions being asked as its been mentioned before now. Then you wouldn't see the same questions 50 times on here and see less complaints about the router, when it's not a router issue..

I see & you're right, we call them spoonfeeders Not many people understand the internet is a library or they do but can't be bothered. I have facebook friend comments asking questions like that when they're already on the internet
